Health Advisory for Pilgrims

For ensuring pilgrims’ safety on the Char Dham tour, the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) has issued a health advisory for pilgrims’ health and safety. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, low humidity, excess ultraviolet radiation, and lack of oxygen, the pilgrims face many health hazards. So, it is advisable to get your examination done before departing for the from your respective destinations. Pilgrims suffering from any disease should consult with their doctors and keep the necessary medicines with them. Senior citizens with serious health conditions or who have been infected with COVID earlier shall postpone their trip if possible.

If you are coming from the plains, take some rest of the day before starting the journey. It is also advisable to carry some woolen clothes with you. If you feel headache, anxiety, nausea, higher pulse rate, or difficulty in breathing, contact the nearest healthcare center or call 108/104 helpline numbers for any medical emergencies. Do not smoke or drink liquor while traveling to the Char Dham Shrines. Do not travel with an empty stomach or also take a short break during a long journey.

Death during Chardham Yatra 2022

Over the last few days, 20 pilgrims have lost their lives due to suffering from co-morbidities such as high sugar, asthma, and heart-related issues. Doctors have strongly advised all devotees to take the rest of the day as they travel from the plains, especially Yamunotri and Kedarnath. We advise you to dress in warm clothes during the trek to Yamunotri and Kedarnath, drink a lot of fluids, and take some breaks. So, it’s recommended to get your health checkups before proceeding with Char Dham Yatra.

Fraudsters are now posing as Travel Agents for Char Dham Tour

According to the police, many pilgrims are getting increased for the Char Dham Yatra this year, considering over the last two years, which is why tourists are unable to get a cab booking and several fraudsters are taking advantage of this. The criminals keep an eye on devotees and promise them a cab booking, take an advance amount, and then disappear. So, if anyone wants to take a cab booking, they should ask him for the registration documents of his travel agency. In case anyone is duped, they should immediately inform the police.

Uttarakhand Govt. Fixes Daily Pilgrims Limit for Char Dham Yatra

The Uttarakhand Government has announced the daily pilgrims limit beginning from 3rd May, said as 16,000 at Badrinath, 13,000 at Kedarnath, 8,000 at Gangotri, and 5,000 at Yamunotri. And this arrangement has been made for 45 days. The government has also announced to register on the state’s portal by the Tourism Department for Chardham Yatra Package before their arrival. However, it is not mandatory to provide COVID vaccination certificates for the pilgrims. With the COVID-related restrictions lifted, many pilgrims visit the Himalayan temples this year, and all the hotels & Dharamshala reported that they booked in advance.
