The tiled roofs of Bern

The old city of Bern is filled with these magnificent buildings with tiled roofs. Realised that such structures, or even smaller ones, with tiled roofs have disappeared from the cities of Kerala, which was once doted with tiled roofs. At present, one can see tiled roof structures only in the old markets, like Valiyangadi in Kozhikode or Mattanchery in Kochi or Chalai market in Thiruvananthapuram. In Bern, such buildings are preserved on either side of the Turquoise-coloured Aare River. Ended up clicking just these tiles for an hour.

Oh BTW, Einstein lived in this city for a few years. His house is still preserved here and there is a statue of him relaxing on a chair in the town centre, and of course the Einstein museum.
