I’ve always written for the trees. I used to compose poems for them even when I struggled with storytelling. I wasn’t the best at writing poems, and people often discouraged me.

I used to take comfort in the shade of our guava trees. Under the shade of these trees, I would consider ways to improve myself in all aspects. In our yard, a line of guava trees seemed to be dedicated to the birds. My parents rarely picked the ripe fruits, allowing the birds to enjoy them instead. This act of kindness has attracted a variety of birds to our yard.

While we bought fruit for ourselves, these trees were meant for passersby or those in need.

As I grew up and moved abroad, I encountered new and exotic trees that I had never seen before.
