“When eating a fruit, think of the person who planted the tree.”
~ Vietnamese Proverb

If one is to quote an example of a selfless giver, trees would be the most appropriate answer. No one does as much as trees do for our planet. When was the last time you noticed these background forces of everything good? Did you water a plant this week? Have you planted a tree in your life? If your answer to one or more of these questions is No, let us remind you why trees are the most critical creation of mother nature and why we must thank them.

Keep Our Cities Clean

Air pollution is a significant issue in cities across the world. Trees play a critical role in purifying city air, as they take away harmful pollutants along with carbon dioxide. Research indicates that a healthy tree can absorb up to 48 pounds of carbon dioxide every year. Additionally, a tree can sequester up to one ton of carbon by the time it is 40 years old.

Lower Temperatures in Cities/Suburbs

Nothing could be worse than walking under the scorching sun. Trees are here to the rescue. Studies find that trees can lower the temperature of a street by up to 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-6.66 degrees Celcius). Heat island is a growing issue in most of the cities across the world. Trees can help in regulating the temperatures of the city, thereby reducing the heat island effect.

Play a Critical Role in Raining

Everyone loves rains, the animals, trees, and humans as well. Did you know that trees play a critical role in the natural rain cycle? Studies reveal that a large tree can lift and release up to 100 gallons of water in the atmosphere every day. Not only is this necessary for maintaining the rain cycle, but it can also prevent floods in urban areas. In fact, research indicates that Amazonian trees create their rain through transpiration.

Provide Relief from Stress

In addition to over a dozen benefits, destressing humans is another prime cause served by the all-good forests. Forestry England has found in multiple studies that spending time in the woods can not only reduce stress but improve the attention span of individuals.

Shinrin-Yoku is a practice in Japan under which people intake the forest atmosphere or enjoy “forest bathing.” It is a crucial aspect of preventive health care in the island nation. The phenomenon is gaining popularity around the globe.

TreeCoin: We’re ready to thank trees with sustainable timber production

As a team that has worked in close proximity to trees, we have found a way to thank these selfless givers. TreeCoin is creating a sustainable timber production model, whose sole purpose is to prevent excessive exploitation of trees in its target locations. Our first plantation site is in Paraguay, where we aim to plant over 10 million trees in the first phase itself. TreeCoin has developed a scientific plantation, maintenance, and harvest schedule for these plantations, giving trees sufficient time to regrow.

You can thank trees too

If you want to thank a tree today, become a part of TreeCoin’s hybrid token offering. It’s never too late to show your appreciation for nature’s greatest gift!
