There are experiences that you don’t expect to happen when you start off on a journey.

In the 2 days we hoped to cover two treks Ratangad and Kalsubai, that's how we started our journey from Pune on a bike. It was going to be a long journey with bumpy roads seeing my past experiences, Praveen aka Trekkar_Boy who was driving the bike made sure we stopped after every 30kms (hey am not that good with my Iron butt)

Post the road madness

We started at around 11 AM from Pune, stopped for countless tea, pee and picture breaks above is one such example of the countless pics we took :P

We stopped at a small snack place to savor the authentic Misal Pao, a must have if you are in Maharashtra.

Misal Pao

We tread on, on the bike taking pictures and making memories. Stopped for lunch at a small Marathi place which had the best soya chunks of gravy and roti.

The roads were crazy bumpy, my bum started paining even more :P

But soon we reached our destination was spellbound by the bhandardara lake which is also the source of water for many villagers living close by. We had planned to pitch our tent close to an area. However, the person guarding the land tried to overcharge us about 200rs for just putting our own tent and started lecturing us that how if anyone saw us, they would try to loot us and that we had to pay the money anyhow. We decided against paying any money to the man since he was being bossy and manipulative.

We decided to look around the area and find some local who would help us. We approached a local who lived in a small katcha makaan he offered to help us and also provide dinner. It was a blessing in disguise.

Pictures follow:

Our camping place how beautiful it is :)
The hardworking women of the area
The man who helped us stayed overnight here to make us some extremely tasty food
Humble fire to warm the nights (We removed the trace of it after we left)
Wish all nights would be this beautiful
Life is beautiful when camping
Quilt the locals make to keep themselves warm
The family
Humble life

I would rather give my money to the locals living in areas than people who try to rob others. Staying with locals gives you a new perspective on life.
