Before starting the journey of the product let me first introduce you to the organization that launched the product i.e, Trell. So what is Trell?

Well to simply describe Trell, it is India’s Largest Lifestyle Social Commerce platform. Empowering millions of storytellers & Micro-Entrepreneurs is the aim of Trell.

The main motivation for the product

Every creator has to display their work to the world to attract like-minded folks and brands that align with their views. Keeping this in mind Trell launched Creator-Space. The best description of Creator-Space is a customized portfolio for creators which they can use to showcase their work to the world and also analyze their reach.

So now that we know the what and who of Creator-Space let’s move to the How?

How does it work?

The first page offers three mediums of login i.e, Gmail, Facebook, and Phone number. In the case of phone login, an OTP is sent, in another case we use third parties for authentication.

On the next page, the creator enters their details about their full name, the unique Handlename that can help viewers reach them, active email, a short description of their work, and the three categories their content falls in. Next, they enter the social media details so that the review team can see their work and approve them to access the platform.

The signup page and the mail creator receives after successfully signing up

Congratulations you’ve successfully signed up for the platform while your profile is under review you can edit the details you've entered. You would also get a mail telling you about your successful signup to the platform.

The profile under review page

After a while when your profile is verified you will receive a congratulatory mail notifying you of the same.

The acceptance mail to the Creator-Space platform

Well, congratulations you’re in the club, now it’s time for the rituals of the club, i.e, you can add social media posts that tell about your type and quality of work to the visitors. This is the page that will be shared with visitors for the portfolio.

The social media links displayed on top and space tab consisting of social media posts
This is what the creator sees on the home screen

The user can describe their posts with captions and can reorder their posts in the order they wish and visitors interact with the same.

Well, you will be wondering how to images in posts, right?

Adding post link and picking the thumbnail

Either the pre-existing thumbnail of those images can be used as a thumbnail in Creator-space or the creator can upload some other image as well.

Now that you’ve added your posts you would be curious to know about how many people visited your profile or how many people clicked your posts right?

Well, worry not we have a solution to your problem i.e, the analytics. We keep track of how many times your profile was visited and how many times each post was clicked. This is what the insights page looks like to the creator.

The image to the left shows the total clicks in the given duration and the day's highest number of clicks in the given duration. The image to the right shows the views to the profile in a given duration and the highest number the profile was visited in a day during a duration. The duration for views of Posts clicks and Profile visits is 7 days, 30 days, or 60 days.

A platform offering so many things from space on the internet to the analytics of profile visits is what makes Creator-Space unique.

Have heard of something similar before?

There might be a point where the reader would assume that these features are present in LinkTree as well, right? So what makes Creator-Space different from LinkTree?

First things first, Creator-Space was in some way inspired by the idea that LinkTree offers.

Second most since Creator-Space needs a review for creators to make their portfolio, it sort of becomes an elite club where selected people exist, meaning if you have an account on our platform you’re a professional who means business.

In Linktree you share the social media sites as mere links whereas here those links are treated as social media links and the platforms which are used for creating content, hence we are touching a slightly different tangent with our platform.

Creator Space being part of Trell, will offer monetization opportunities to creators by building their store here, which we call Creator Store, powered by Trell Shop.

How it’ll help a creator

  1. Take your Creator-Space wherever the creator’s audience is, to help them to discover all creator’s important content.
  2. Creator-Space is the launchpad to creator’s latest video, article, recipe, tour, store, website, social post — everywhere creators are online.
  3. From tips for creator’s content to donations for creator’s projects, let creator’s fans & followers support creators in monetizing their passions.
  4. Choose how Creator wants their profile to look with easy-to-customize themes and designs.

Summing up the features offered

  1. Space on the internet to display portfolio.
  2. Get the analytics of the profile visits during a certain duration.
  3. Knowing how many times top pieces of work were clicked.
  4. Sharing the entire work type i.e, portfolio in a single click.
  5. Privacy is non-negotiable.
  6. Getting tips from fans and followers.
  7. Custom display of portfolio in respect of design and theme.

Conclusion

Well, I guess I’ve described the project pretty well( will update if new features are added). This project was a fun and learning experience for the entire team as we’re easing up the life of creators so that they just focus on their work and we help them present the best version of themselves. This platform shall also help them understand what creation is more received for them based on the analytics. This project aligns with Trell’s ambition to be a one-stop-shop for the creators, and being able to share your portfolio is a part of the same parcel.

The difference that Creator-Space makes

hasta la vista till the next venture
