5C Principles of Trendyol Culture That I Admire

The end of the last year was marked by a unique opportunity for my career: I took on a new exciting challenge and joined the International team of Trendyol. As a newcomer, I have had the privilege of getting to know the company’s culture from the inside out through well-structured internal onboarding sessions and team collaboration. From day one, I have been struck by the 5C principles of communication that drive everything Trendyol does: complete, concise, credible, conversational, and correct. These principles are more than just buzzwords — they are a guiding force that shapes the way we work and interact with our customers and people. In this article, I will be sharing my thoughts on why I have grown to adore these principles during my first months at Trendyol.

What are the 5C principles of effective communication?

Complete

First and foremost, the principle of completeness is of the utmost importance. It refers to the company’s dedication to ensuring that every aspect of its work is approached with thoroughness and attention to detail. This includes everything from product descriptions and customer service interactions, to job descriptions and the candidate experience. Such commitment to completeness can be seen in the comprehensive onboarding process that Trendyol provides for new employees, ensuring that they have all the necessary tools and resources to succeed in their roles.

Concise

The principle of concise emphasizes the importance of efficiency and simplicity in all aspects of the company’s operations. This includes clear and concise communication, both within the organization and with external stakeholders such as customers and candidates. By prioritizing simplicity and clear communication, Trendyol has been able to create a more productive work environment and provide a user-friendly experience for customers. In addition, this focus on simplicity has allowed for smoother and more streamlined processes for candidates, making the hiring experience more efficient and enjoyable.

Credible

Credibility is another key principle at Trendyol, as the company recognizes the importance of honesty and trustworthiness in all of its interactions. To uphold this principle, Trendyol takes great care to ensure that all information shared with customers, including product descriptions and shipping estimates, is accurate and reliable. This commitment to honesty extends to the candidate experience as well, as Trendyol strives to be transparent about the expectations for each role and provides accurate and reliable information to candidates throughout the hiring process. As an employee, it is reassuring to work for a company that values credibility and places such a high emphasis on honesty and trustworthiness. This focus on credibility not only enhances the customer and candidate experience but also helps to build and maintain trust within the organization. However, there is always room for improvement, and Trendyol is actively working to enhance its credibility and to continuously learn and grow in this area.

Conversational

Conversational is a principle that I particularly appreciate as it demonstrates the company’s focus on fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The company continually works to strengthen its connections with all stakeholders, including customers, coworkers, and candidates. By prioritizing the building of meaningful relationships, Trendyol aims to foster a positive and inclusive environment for all. This is planned to be achieved through casual interactions and personalized support, which helps to build a sense of community within the organization. Additionally, this focus on creating a welcoming atmosphere enhances the candidate experience by allowing for more personalized and enjoyable interactions with the company. One example of witnessing this principle in action was the warm welcome I received from the entire team during my first days in the office!

Correct

Finally, the principle of correct refers to the company’s dedication to excellence and continuous improvement. This principle is reflected in the way Trendyol encourages employees to take initiative and strive for perfection in their work. By fostering a culture of excellence, Trendyol is able to not only drive individual growth and development but also contribute to the overall success of the company. This focus on continuous improvement allows Trendyol to stay at the forefront of its industry and provide top-quality products and services to its customers. In addition, this principle is a key aspect of the company’s culture and plays a vital role in driving the company’s success and growth.

To sum up, I can attest that I’ve personally experienced the positive impact of the company’s dedication to the 5C communication principles as in just a short period of time, these principles have played a crucial role in supporting my personal and professional growth. I am grateful to be part of an organization that prioritizes excellence and efficiency and is focused on boosting honesty and transparency in its processes, and I have no doubt that these principles will continue to guide and inspire us all as we move forward and expand our presence on the international market.
