Celebrating 4 Years of Trenta.io – Thank you!

We realize this is our first official monthly update of 2018, but if you have been following us on social networks like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram then you know we’ve stayed busy. Today we have 3 announcements too big for social media.

Rainier UI Icon — Calculator — Rasterized vs Vector

We wanted 2018 to be about you and your requests. 6 months later, we are happy to report that we are on track to finish moving Rainier UI Icons from a rasterized format to vector by the end of the year. This enables better support across different Linux distributions, smaller file sizes and much improved scalability. Moving our icons to vector was the most requested “feature” by our community for the Rainier UI project.

Our second announcement is that our team has grown. We have added some new key roles to our group including a new community manager and another visual designer. This has allowed us to spend more time working on things we see as important like our first and third announcements. Expect more frequent updates and behind-the-scenes content coming from us soon.

Our final announcement today is regarding Trenta OS. Last August we announced that we would put Trenta OS on an indefinite hold. This was due to many factors but was mainly due to limited resources and time which lead to countless roadblocks in development.

However, we continue to receive messages requesting the return of Trenta OS more than anything else. So today we are happy to announce to committing our new (and old resources) to have a test build of Trenta OS by the end of 2018. This new build will utilize our new advancements of Rainier UI and the Ubuntu Operating System and will be available internally and to a curated list of community testers. If everything goes as planned (knock on wood), we will release in January 2019 to the general public for testing.

Lastly if you would like to contribute, please contact us via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram if you’d like to help with design, development or any other skills. We will also be accepting donations via PayPal to further development — and anyone who donates 15 dollars or more will receive a Trenta.io sticker pack sent to them if they choose.

Thank you to all of our fans for your patience and most of all your continued support over the last 4 years. We’re here to stay and it’s because of all of you.

Thank you.
