Almost five years ago I had an idea that would be a short lived one off but eventually turn into something much more.

It all started in conversation with my good friend Jim, a CFO-for-hire type who knew how to grow and sell a company for big bucks, and a bottle or two of wine. Jim is fascinating, smart and knows how to communicate with all kinds of people to win them over or push them forward. He would bounce around every few years from company to company and loved it.

In our many conversations, I realized that the knowledge he shared with me would be valuable to many more. A light bulb went on. So with a one-man camera crew and a bottle of wine, Jim and I sat down at his house and talked for about 90 minutes. This would later be edited down into short videos for the original Trepsess series.

And he wasn’t the only one. I had met Tianyi at a networking event and we continued to cross paths, so we got talking. As a startup CEO, founder and co-founder of West Suburban Angels in Chicago, I knew that he had a great story to share and information for startups and entrepreneurs to understand funding, how to get funded, what steps to take and more. This became Part Two of the Trepsess series.

There are only nine videos in the series and loads of additional video never shared, but it’s something no one was doing.

Then, as business and life took over, and my camera man went on site for a shoot in South America, it all stopped. But it was always on my mind.

For me Trepsess is a meaningful conversation with thought leaders who can truly be of service to entrepreneurs at any level, and I’ve always been a person of service to clients and my community — personal and professional.

Trepsess is the intersection of where entrepreneurs meet success.

And so it only made sense that as the model of Cascade Communications, a Story Agency, and the media industry shifted in the past few years, that Trepsess be reborn as a place to share our amazing client stories, but also truly valuable content often missed in other digital publications — the meaningful stories and conversations that people can really learn from or find motivation to keep grinding it out with grit each day.
