Imagine your holiday shopping experience looking something like this:

You walk into a store and, instead of waiting in a congested line for self-checkout, while attempting to maintain social distancing, you checkout from your phone anywhere in the store. That’s right. Anywhere in the store and then head to an exit for digital purchase verification and you’re on your way.

No lines. No shared self-checkout equipment.

No staying inside a congested building or lines for too long.

You can go into a store, pick up what you went to get and leave. Complete your purchase from anywhere in store and safely exit with your approved purchase.

Today, people are weary of going into stores. Even those of who love it and brave it go in a with a list. A mission. We are no longer browsing, and if we are, it is quick and decisive. This may not always be true, but for now something has changed and it may never quite be the same.

While many stores and large retailers have worked hard to follow CDC guidelines and create a safe, spacious, clean in-store environment, most Americans just want to get in and get out. The model has to change to accommodate people.

In these times, how do we encourage shoppers back into the and keep them, and employees safe? It’s simple as we discovered — Xcoobee Retail System.

Xcoobee, a privacy and payments fintech startup, offers a unique contactless, cashless payment platform with checkout anywhere in-store that is set to reimagine the traditional retail experience by offering purchasing straight from your phone for a safer retail experience.

The platform, using a smart QR code, is easy and fast for retailers to set up — within a matter of days — and consumers simply capture the QR code for social distanced shopping in-store.

What this means for consumers and small businesses:

You, the consumer, walk into a store and see a sign inviting you to scan a QR code to shop. No account or login is necessary. Just scan and shop.

Now, if you shop at this store a lot, say you’re a contractor who everyone knows at your neighborhood Lowe’s or Ace Hardware, you might create an account with credit card info for fast check out. This can also be helpful when you send a project manager to the store to pick up a custom door for a house you’re remodeling. They can send you a picture, make sure it’s the right door, you accept the purchase and pay for it. No personal information is exchanged. No business credit cards needed.

This may seem like a small step, but this small step can save time in travel, returns, and keep a construction project on deadline.

For small business owners, they can easily authorize a real-world purchase of any item by their employees, instead of giving them an expense account or credit card. It’s all registered and tracked in one place. No expense reports. No 30-day reimbursement.

Imagine, one day in the future returning to normal, going on a business trip and not having to worry about a corporate credit card. All of the expenses go on your Xcoobee account and are automatically approved by accounting. Moreover, accounting sends those expenses on to the client and has them paid immediately. Again, no expense reports, no tracking or compiling of receipts, no worrying about lost receipts, no reimbursement wait period, no extra work.

Cool. Right?

This is cool too;

A nephew visiting the store on behalf of his immune compromised grandmother at any time and shopping on her behalf without worries of exposing her or himself further.

A woman is shopping for her elderly neighbor who is not comfortable going to the store. She can easily have her neighbor review the purchase, or alert that she forgot bananas, and then purchase everything in the cart. The neighbor stays safe and she doesn’t have to worry about how the she pays back her friend.

I am always finding things at stores I think a friend will like. Xcoobee allows me to scan it, send it and ask if they really would like or use it. It saves so much time buying something only to have to turn around and return it.

Get a better insight into your college-age child’s spending without a need for them to access to your credit card, but still supporting them when they need to get something at Target that they need. And they will always need to go to Target.

For retailers the bonuses are many. The Xcoobee Retail System Stores can:

  1. a customized, branded mobile payment platform
  2. reduce the cost and maintenance of self-checkout stations
  3. keep their employees safer by reducing their interaction with customers
capture additional impulse purchases and shopper data
  4. can process more sales with the same number of employees
  5. deploy less hardware while having better store security
  6. get valuable in-store operations analysis
  7. all of this can be coupled with AI at checkout points to validate purchases faster and with more accuracy (think Costco)
  8. and much more…

Many companies tout their “contactless payments solutions” but the Xcoobee system is different outside of how it executes, the ease of adoption for consumers, its sheer speed of deployment internally, and its pure number of uses and benefits.

Bilal Soylu, CEO Xcoobee, says that he and his team were actually out to create something and discovered that they had developed a payment platform that could have a major impact for every market that engages with customers and consumers directly.

In fact, the company is winner of the Worldline 3rd Annual e-Payments Challenge (2020) in Europe, in which Accor Hospitality signed on to “Re-invent Hospitality through Contactless Solutions”. More to come on this payment solution for hotels…
