Architecture as Sound Design.

(As reprised in a LinkedIn Post earlier in the year #2016)

Design, and its ambition to prosper the lives its built around, commands an atypical disruption of the ground levels that will pave a fixed foundation to what is (about to become) : /a building/.

When we level up the floors of capacity in a space, to Boot. literally surpass the verticals that scale from the man-made lobby marble to the 85th floor boardroom mahogany table that exceed the elevation purposed to their blueprinted architecture, we hope that people notice the effort behind it, and Command. the derived attention to the grand intention of an exterior. Wishing to further this intent with its actual use, the need to install themselves into the interior Tab. — by way of tenancy in rentals, from the outright building purchase, or the occasional nod to a meeting or two to glimpse and fixate on plans, or appreciate the appeal of the coffee-bar mandate on spending time with others, where to “hang is to hold”, and Alt-option. finally, by learning to steal ourselves away from the misery that is in the order of the organic track that is our humanity. Click. We can help ourselves. And we can help each other along the way, and understand that it is intrinsic to be social. Swipe. We rely on ourselves to become the sort of people who should command an audience — whether it was a given, because we had the external structure, the proper operating system which envelopes purpose into an affixed mandate, or have not the inkling or gust of wind to get things rolling.

Either way, Tap. we live (just like the buildings we are imperatively installed in) with all the builds that we initiated, penned, blueprinted, drawing-boarded, programmed, cerebralised, variably fossilised, integrated, queried, squirreled-away, or quick-as-lightning conducted — from its frameworks to its finishings, to find our own solace in the ultimate elegance of its construction and design.

It is w-o-r-k, but it is also personal. Shut down. (As we were.)
