This C.O.F.F.E.E. link takes you to a survey to see which cafe you like in Singapore — which is where i reside at the moment, and had taken the liberty to list the ones that i frequent, and like.

Allowing the brew in different coffeeehouses to enable you to say, this is the one. This is the favourite, absolute place to have a perfect cuppa, is literally the call of the daily work grind. (Work obviously gets accomplished on the side).

Publishing a hot list for what people really do when they stay in for a $5.50 5oz. cup of flat white, is where my interest lies for this article’s sake. Having taken your survey answers, and mostly ruling out the fact that people aren’t going to have a favourite because they live out of Singapore, or haven’t been, would mean it was just a semi-epic waste of scroll time (probably at a coffeehouse).

Top ten reasons would be:

  1. Work
  2. The cup itself
  3. Meetings, conveniently nearby
  4. Weekend graze of “see & be seen”
  5. It’s where everyone hangs (see 4)
  6. You love their eggs cocotte, since you have no oven
  7. The barista is on a first-name basis with you — and has no need to write your name on a cup to remember you by
  8. Time-tested amazing playlist ever (and sometimes you can spy it from the overhead wifi-networked player
  9. You can download music from said playlist, for every cuppa ordered (this happened to me in Starbucks in Washington DC on a coffeehouse tear year)
  10. There are cupcakes to be had, still.
