Peeking Docs.
Documents ‘r us.
We are our documents.
We document everything - from the identity passages, to the avid diarists -how much we spend, what we talk about, who with, and to the everyday existence of what makes us today, what we eat & libate. These tomes take us to where we think is the encompassing integration of everything that we are. Consistently, we change and adapt - but the challenge isn’t in the differences on who or what we can become each year of our lives, it’s in the designation of what makes us the consistent design that are the epitome of ourselves.
We document what we thought was sound, what we felt, who we saw, where we have been, what we have done (for CVs, mostly for money), and how we had been able to get idea after idea after idea, whether that was implied in our job scopes, or in our creative identities, and become what we most wanted to be sometimes, by accident, but mostly, by the mere realisation of what that is.
More often, we document for fun. We are called to apply ourselves into the technium (or what is the future of our collectively mapped psyches), and become one with whatever it was that brought us to “happen upon ourselves”. We are not mere accidents. We document history, so we can put order into the timeline that was us, before we became our definitive i, ad infinitum.
It is in the very reflection of where we are, that we sometimes are able to see who we are, and then afterwards, what we are. We need communities because to evolve ourselves, we need people to tell us (mostly parents, though we can’t really understand that until we have offspring ourselves because we all hate our mothers), and we subject ourselves to all the issues of independence, when we all actually need to acknowledge the very meaning of interdependence that we need to weave to support our very existence. We need one another in the spaces that we seek out, and in order to breathe life into ourselves, we become social.
On the issue of being antisocial: we gather ourselves very firmly in the habitats of our true beings - corresponding to what was a material definition of an abstraction that was our person, and slowly getting defined (as your pixelised screens on device, or what was the liquid crystal displays), because as we know it, we require a definition, in order to survive the gaussian blur that people may draw us with, or from - in the very, very social media as we know it.
We need to document our platitudes, simplifying the very obvious mandate of our human existence to make ourselves known, in a language, in an O/S that speaks to others. As some philosopher has eloquated: to make ourselves palatable, we need to simply see the forest for the trees. As forests are trees made up together. Someone also said, if a tree fell, and no one was there, would anyone know it had fallen? It mandates a collective knowledge to create a space where a certainty lives, and thrives.
With no small adjust to the society of followers, we create this - and curiously- as something that we probably retrace of an organic origin as history would have us, re-search, to command our conclusions well. With all our mindsets in place, and a system of processes, we gain order slowly, and with all the energy bestowed upon us daily (thank you coffee growers) - that goes and have gone into the entropy that required an energy to build, to factor, is now gone (and going to) to simplifying.
And we do so now, but faster.
