What, the title?!
This is NOT an about page — although the tone might be like it. It will be a feature of those who might’ve just tuned in, 6 or 7 years late into the scene, of the Bean-page-turned-into-a-House. It’s hard to explain. (But, i’ll try.)
i. A History. (Posing the prob, rob).
Why “Of Hothouses, & Breadcrumbs”? : It had to do with incubation ports, and the workspaces that i worked with: creatively, and financially, etc. etc. So it was the obvious place for millenial minds to find me. If you know, you know. (You know?)
And for those who don’t, read on:
The original medium placeholder name was a loooong one: Have Beans Will Brew, in the wee 2013 early days of medium — before they assigned all the blockchain-like IP-wielded-shut content of all the probable old publications — with a membership access fee and behind all the democracy of pay-walls.
So i reduced it’s character space to ¡treptrips! in 2014, as an offshoot to the travel app i was making during the time, before the barcelona laptop-napping incident i yap on and on about.
The logo was a coffee-table-top coffee i took (all the pics i usually have taken and posted on my instagram account), and made as a cover for my then-too-nascent tiny publication.
ii. Now.
And a travel turned into a techcrunch disrupt incubation interest with the tool room, and i tended more towards the creative leaning on finding more creative people in the space. (The tool room is no longer, but the scribbles and designed apps still imprint their memories on our pages.) Thank you, George!
An Alternative Image. (Possibly a solution, or just a solvent to erase all the ____ (bleeeeeep!) _____ ).
Paradoxically, a House is Not on the roll. As Treps who roll, couldn’t possibly be mobile AND be inside a moping dope incubation area / house / cube…. thing. Can it?
This very puzzling paradox might be resolved, (4 years after declaring its launch and branding), with a change in Page from the glass house (which is the Climate change anecdotal for me — since i also was running thésocialt+ink which had tackled the green and PC women troops i was working with at the time, and the running ____ (bleep) ____ that was the working corporate culture i was mired in, at the time.
Probably still.
And this made things a little bit easy to bear, and deal with, and cut up into chunks to swallow, with a pinch of salt and espelette pepper probably… ok, i will not digress.
I may need to stick to either The Roll concept (as ‘Treps do), or i may just stick to my low and slow humdrum coffee-table top Coffee Tryke trails — another hop to hop app — that takes the green (as one does these days of the unarguably irreversible climate change) and the barista brew gripes into high consideration for a wild creative life well lived.
Or, just my old inklynation imagery. (Which might be a little old, but i think branding never really does stray, when told a little more solidly.)
I have until the end of 2020, to probably decide this. Wish me luck.
