Trias x Odoo: Blockchain-enabled Open Source ERP
Previously, Trias has signed a strategic cooperation with Odoo SOITA, Shanghai Open-source Information Technology Association, An Odoo Community in China, to explore more industrial applications of the blockchain-enabled ERP module, TriasForce-ERP. Members of the Odoo SOITA include software developers and service providers with clients over different industries using Odoo for their ERP systems.
Odoo is a multi-national open-source ERP enterprise. It is second only to Netsuite of Oracle for its Open source ERP products. Odoo software has been used by over 4.5Million users worldwide and has offices in different parts of the world that cater to the needs of the enterprises. Odoo is business management software that provides CRM, e-commerce, billing, accounting, manufacturing, warehouse, project management, and inventory management. In addition to the above, Odoo community has more than 1500 active members who have contributed over 16000+ apps to cover a variety of business needs.
The Odoo software has very powerful functions but has many areas that could be improved such as the data storage problems. The current data storage methods is PostgreSQL, which does not offer assurance for data recovery and lacks effective means to motivate community contributions. Issues such as the data storage could be solved with blockchain technology that has been known for security, reversibility, traceability, auto-execution of smart contracts that could help Odoo in solving the problem.
To work on solving such issues, the Trias x Odoo program has been introduced. This partnership, together with other Odoo local communities, will work on issues such as big data analysis, business development, and integrating Odoo modules onto the public chain of Trias as DApps. Trias x Odoo program effectively enhance the ability of enterprises for sensitive data. At the first stage, this program will focus on developing 7 modules such as E-commerce, Inventory management, Invoice, Chat, CRM, POS, and accounting functions. Now, TriasForce, the Decentralized SaaS developed by Trias team has completed the E-commerce, Inventory management, Invoice, and Chat modules. The combined solutions is called TriasForce-ERP and has been deployed in Chong Ren Power Transmission Industry Blockchain Platform (refer to https://www.trias.one/article/355 for more details) .
Most importantly, this could be a solution to the untrustworthy applications in the open-source community as a whole by combing the technology of AI, blockchain and security to ensure the trustworthiness and security of the data. The Prometh Layer of Trias ensures the correct execution of software during the development process and helps in tracing software changes resulting in solving major trust issues.
The following scenarios could benefit from this program:
1. Electronic payment: The Trias wallet supports major cryptocurrencies such as BTC, ETH, TRY, EOS, USDT etc.. The Trias architecture makes it easier to add new currencies in a short period of time as needs arise. The Trias wallet has a built in digital currency exchange and can be accessed on a decentralized exchange.
2. Invoice: Odoo can use the Trias blockchain to store, issue and circulate electronic invoices on blockchain. This could help in better tax management without the use of paper.
The use of Trias blockchain for electronic invoices has several characteristics such as tamper-proof, incorrect invoices and improvements in invoice supervision. The invoice system could solve the over-reporting of invoices, false offset and correct invoice flow process.
3. Document signing: Odoo uses PostgreSQL to save the original data(After the files have been signed). This database system is not tamper-proof and could affect the files that are stored. Since the Trias blockchain is encrypted, all malicious operations such as tampering, deleting, moving etc.. that are made on the file can be easily identified. The Trias blockchain tamper proof service can also provide independent APP applications directly to enterprises similar to Odoo.
