Dera Ismail Khan — Workers, leaders and youth of different political parties held a rally against the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) and demanded to merge FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), here on Wednesday.

Pakistan People’s Party’s leader and MNA Bajaur Agency Akhunzada Chattan while speaking to the rally asked Maulana Fazlur Rehman to stop being used by the FATA Secretariat, Governor House and bureaucracy against the tribal people. He said Maulana, otherwise, that the today’s rally is a warning for him and his politics.

Former deputy speaker national assembly Faisla Kareem Khan Kundi, a strong political opponent of Fazlur Rehman said that the Maulana is playing merely for his personal political interests. “More that 80% FATA’s people demand FATA’s merger with KP but we are asking Fazlur Rehman, why he is unhappy with the desires of FATA’s people,” Kundi said.

The rally, led by youth including hundreds of tribesmen, was started from Tank Adda to Topanwala, Dera Ismail Khan.

Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Maulana Fazlur Rehman are our enemies; tribal people.

PPP FATA’s president Khan Malook Khan Wazir criticized Maulana Fazlur Rehman and said that he has been deceiving tribal people for the last 68 years. “But we will not allow Fazlur Rehman anymore to play his political game in FATA,” said Wazir.

Other political workers including Awami National Party’s Khan Wali Khan, Shahi Khan, Ayaz Khan Wazir, Abdullah Nangial, — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Dost Muhammad Mehsud, Naseerullah Khan Wazir, Afsar Khan, Abdul Majeed, — Pakistan Mulim League’s HAq Nawaz Wazir, — Jamat-e-Islami’s Zahid, Muhibullah and many other participating in the rally strengthening “Go FCR Go” slogans of the tribal people.

Speaking to the rally, the leaders said that tribal people were independent but they are kept in slavery with a proper planning which is totally meaningless and unachievable plan.

They marchers vowed to keep protesting against the FCR and demanding FATA’s merger with KP.

Tight security was set up by police during the rally which was ended peacefully.

Interestingly all of the rally participants including the top political leaders were criticizing Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI) cheif Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Pashtunkhwa Mili Awami Party (PkMAP) chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai but there was no visionary and policy statement given by them. Neither the proposed reforms package and its time-frame were discussed nor a clear message was delivered in the rally.

It was like an “anti-Fazlur Rehman rally” but not anti-FCR. The leaders who led the rally didn’t guide hundreds of youth who were present there. Former deputy speaker used the platform ineffectively against his political opponent and others were also slamming Fazlur Rehman and Achakzai.

It’s important to mention here that Maulana Fazlure Rehman and Mehmood Khan Achakzai have been opposing the merger of FATA with KP which is widely condemned by the people of FATA and called both the leaders, the enemies of FATA.
