New Africans on Tribl

Tribl is a platform for the culture. “Culture is the intersection of behaviors, customs, knowledge, and achievements of a particular group of people, encompassing language, religion, cuisine, social trends, music and arts.” Now, more than ever, culture matters, and is pivotal to the manner in which people connect globally. Just look at Black Panther, the Box Office Hit which premiered in Saudi Arabia after a 35-Year ban and ignited conversations worldwide. With the current rise of cultural exposure it is no surprise that Africans are one of the largest shared cultural identities within the app.

The Takeover

This week, we launched the African Tribe with popular comedian Dulo Harris(@iamdulo). New Africans are a millennial group of diaspora people who are more educated, creative, complex, and connected than ever before. The “Diaspora” now includes Africans, African Americans, Afro-Caribbeans, and Afro-Latinos. They are multinational, multiracial, and consider home a number of places depending on their audience.

Tribl serves as a bridge that can instantly connect you to your passions and interests. You can interact with #BlackTwitter and talk about the latest episode of #Power. Imagine flying back home from a conference such as #Afrotech and instantly discovering others who attended from your city. When was the last time you relocated to a new city and wondered where you could find the best African cuisine? These are the conversations we all have. The connections are real, and now, they can happen in one place.

Favorite Artists/Shows/Dishes Intro

Who remembers A/S/L? The popular term used to tell people your Age, Sex, and Location on AIM. Introducing yourself to others within the channel on Tribl is communicated in a similar fashion. things a little differently. Upon opening the app be sure to introduce yourself in the tribe by sharing your favorite ASD (Artists, Shows and Dishes). Discover mutual interests as you engage with others who share your favorites. Scroll through the chat and Direct Message others who have come before you and who share some of your favorites. You never know when a debate will break out, especially when the conversations are about who makes the best #JollofRice or or who is the best #PremiereLeague team. Maybe you’re an artists, content creator, or entrepreneur; tell the tribe more about what you’re working on and how they can support you. Those who begin building relationships early will reap the benefits as the platform’s community grows. Tribl is here to be the bridge, take the next steps. #BeTribl
