Welcome to the Triip newsletter. We’ve got some cool projects coming up and one big announcement to make, so let’s get start.

What’s New

Triip has wrapped up August with a blockbuster announcement.

We’re the recipients of a round of funding and dedicated support from the folks at the marquee legacy financial institution Visa.

Of nine startups who presented at the Visa Innovation Everywhere contest, we were selected as a top entrant by popular vote as were rewarded with a VND100 million cash prize and support with Visa’s payment technologies and business network.

The partnership means Triip will also be able to connect with the 755 million Visa users around the world, allows us to begin working to immediately deploy the Visa Direct payment solution to increase the speed of disbursements to the thousand of local guides providing unique travel experiences in over 227 countries.

What’s Next

Triip is participating in a pair of startup competitions this fall:

In the beginning of September, Founder Hai Ho spoke at the Travel Expo, a travel business conference in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Next week, Co-founder Ha Lam will participate in the World Economic Forum in Ha Noi.

Sept. 18th, we’ll pitch to the DEMO Asia conference in Singapore.

On Sept. 12th, we’ll speak to a business conference at Langkawi, Thailand, on the benefits of using the Triip Protocol to efficiently grow audience and find new clients to serve. Triip Protocol will also be a centrepiece for Chief Strategy Officer Stacy Lee’s address to the Pacific Asia Travel Association, PATA, which Triip has a strong partnership with.

Plug and Play, a global startup network, has invited Triip to pitch for them at Singapore in September. This is a prestigious invite-only event, and just participating in this event is a milestone event for Triip. Flagship participating institutions include Changi Airport, Shangri-la Group, Ascott hotels, Yotel, Accor Hotels, Resort World Sentosa, Andaz, Airbus, Thai Air, Carlson Wagonlit Travel and many more. We’re excited to get the opportunity to pitch in front of a crowd of luminaries, which will include Lionel Yeo, for CEO of the Singapore Tourism Board.

Vienna may be Triip’s next stop. Of 130 applicants, we’re finalists in a chance to win a visit to the Central European nation to learn more about Vienna’s resources for lean, growth-centred firms like ours. One Triip representative is temporarily related to Vienna to get coaching reserved for the country’s elite startups as well as introduction the local startup network. The program is part of Vienna’s bid to position itself as a global business centre. Around 200 international businesses are currently headquartered in Vienna.
