Join me and executives from Comcast, Betterment, Zenefits and Alice Financial for a panel discussion at Money20/20 this Sunday, October 22 from 3:40–4:30 PM to find out what’s driving employers to offer financial services to their employees — and what it means for fintech startups and the broader financial services ecosystem.

As I recently wrote for TechCrunch, we are witnessing a dramatic shift in the way that financial services are being delivered to consumers as employers begin to get more involved in the financial well-being of their employees.

Top employers are seeking new ways to attract and retain employees amidst a fierce war for talent, and seeking methods for keeping that increasingly expensive talent focused and productive. Meanwhile, rising student loan and health care costs, coupled with declining pensions, retirement savings and other financial hardships, are stressing out America’s workers — many of whom lack access to high-quality financial services or even the basic financial literacy to meet their needs. The cost to employers: $200 million annually in lost productivity.

I’ll be moderating a lively panel discussion at Money20/20 to explore the benefits, risks and best practices associated with employer-delivered financial services. Our lineup of thought leaders will provide an overview of products and services available today as well as promising innovations on the horizon, and a breakdown of which segments within the financial services ecosystem stand to gain — and lose — from this disruptive trend.

Panelists:
Jay Fulcher, Chairman & CEO, Zenefits
Shawn Leavitt, SVP Total Rewards, Comcast
Joe Ziemer, VP Communications & Policy, Betterment
Avi Karnani, Co-Founder & CEO, Alice Financial

Moderator
Schwark Satyavolu, General Partner, Trinity Ventures
