TripMode 3.2.2 is out,

and includes something that Apple power users and developers will like : early support for macOS Sonoma, which was announced earlier this month during WWDC 2023, and many VoiceOver improvements.

With almost 10 years of continuous improvements under its belt, TripMode remains your best bet when it comes to controlling internet traffic on your Mac — that’s because many background updates happen without you ever knowing, slowing down your calls, using your limited data, and sneakily pumping your data to who knows where. TripMode is there to put the control of your data back into your hands, showing you all the apps that try to access the internet, how much data they use, what domains they connect to, to help you decide what to allow or deny with a click.

We started out TripMode to avoid reaching painfully low mobile data plans limits too fast, and since then its community of users are using it in a variety of additional, everyday internet traffic use cases: to control and monitor your data, to improve the speed of your downloads, the quality of your zoom calls on poor Wi-Fi networks, to stream without stutters, to prevent ISP throttling, and more.

The best part: it’s dead easy to use and comes in a beautiful macOS interface that looks like an iPhone app. You’d even think Apple took some inspiration from it for its Apple Vision UI styling.

TripMode coming soon to your Apple Vision Pro? 🤞

As macOS Sonoma is still in beta, quirks can happen, therefore don’t install macOS beta software unless you have to, and make sure you understand the risks.

What else in this version? Accessibility!

VoiceOver support was improved in TripMode 3.2.2, that should now support all main TripMode features. That’s long overdue, thank you for your patience. Do let us know if you spot improvements or have suggestions. We do read all feedback and take it into account when we plan updates.

How to get the update?

  • If you downloaded TripMode from our website, you should get prompted to get the update. To check manually, simply go to the About screen and check for updates.
  • If you have Setapp, the update should be pushed to you automatically.
  • The Mac App Store version should be updated automatically as well. If you have automatic updates turned off, simply go to the Mac App Store and check the Updates section.

New to TripMode? Simply download the 7-day free trial from our website or the free version on the Mac App Store, and give it a spin.
