Not so NEW DELHI

We arrived at the Raj Palace at 7 am in the morning, this was 12 1/2 hours ahead of Calgary time , can you believe what this does to the body clock !! The hotel looks like it is in what they call the lungs of Delhi , this is a massive treed area in the middle of Delhi that is protected to feed oxygen to the 20 million people who live in this city. The hotel is 5 star and the service is superb , Indians love meeting people and are always smiling , be it serving staff or street people always smiling!!

To give you an idea about things, a bottle of beer 10$ , a glass of house wine 18$ , a bottle of average wine 72$, laundry in the hotel room , everything is basically 6$ or 7 $!so as you can see nothing is cheap , gas for the car is about the same as Calgary.

I absolutely love love Delhi. It must be the people that make it so. Even though they live in such close confines and the traffic is mad everyone stays even tempered and obviously see the cup half full.

Driving through on the Rickshaw we pass little shop after shop or shack after shack where you see the open air barbers and next door a mechanic shop or a spic shop or street food and so on but it all seems to work like a well oiled machine in the chaos of cows roaming with goats tied up and stray dogs everywhere. So much to take in. Photos coming. Internet slow slow…
