TronLink is your ticket into the land of decentralized applications on the Tron blockchain.
What is TronLink?
TronLink simplifies access to the Tron Blockchain, making it very easy to use. Since it’s a browser extension, it has the ability to connect the content of a website to a secure platform where you can send, receive, and sign transactions.
TronLink provides similar functionality to our desktop wallet while also offering a concise, yet elaborate developer API for Tron applications. The extension runs in a sandboxed environment and uses robust encryption to secure your wallet details. No matter the amount of accounts, TronLink will keep your funds safe. Users have the choice of importing existing accounts while still retaining the ability to generate additional accounts.
With this advanced functionality, the focus of TronLink really comes to light -
Allowing Websites to Interact with Tron Blockchain
TronLink provides websites with an easy to use developer interface that enables the ability to directly interact with Smart Contracts on the Tron blockchain.
Smart Contracts are the base for all DApps. You may be familiar with Ethereum’s ‘CryptoKitties’- such applications on the Tron Blockchain are now be possible thanks to TronLink. Developers will be able to use the API provided by TronLink to request the signing and broadcasting of transactions via TronLink. Developers can also call proxied node api calls selected by the user as opposed to having to directly interface with nodes.
TronLink solves a big problem the Tron Community currently has- we have a wonderful platform but do not have a simple, safe way to interact with it.
TronLink provides similar usage to the Tron Network as MetaMask does with the Ethereum Network. Developers will now be able to create and interact with DApps in the browser which opens up a whole new realm that Tron has never seen before.
Some possibilities that were previously impossible are now easily accomplished.
You will see games, applications, sites and more — all fueled by the Tron Blockchain through TronLink.
Example use case of TronLink
One possible use case for TronLink is a voting button. Imagine if you went to a Representatives webpage and you see a button that says “Vote”.
By integrating TronLink, the developer is able to embed voting functionality directly into their web page. No longer would you need to manually collate and broadcast the information for voting — the functionality is there with the click of a button.
This just scratches the surface of what TronLink is able to do.
Since June 26th, we have been running for Super Representative. Our focus has been on building tools for the launch of the TVM (Tron Virtual Machine). We invite you to join us in this adventure by allocating some votes to TronWatch to assist us in making Tron a better place!
TronLink will be available on the Chrome Web Store on July 31.
