Committee Proposal 87

Committee proposal 87 is a voting request for modifying the №61 chain parameter on TRON network, reducing the daily free bandwidth of the account from 1500 to 600, please refer to here for the origin discussion. Why need to reduce the daily free bandwidth?

In recent months, the transaction volume of the TRON network has grown rapidly. The daily network transaction volume exceeds 11 million, which is about 11 times that of Ethereum, as shown in the figure below.

Based on statistics, about 75.34% of TRX transfer transactions are low-value transactions in the last 3 months, as shown in the table below.

And around 44.86% of smart contract triggers are low-value transactions in the last 3 months, as shown in the table below.

After statistical analysis, it is found that there are a large number of low-value or even fraudulent transactions in the network. Mainly because some accounts use daily free bandwidth to send a large number of low-value transactions, occupying network resources and seriously affecting the development of the entire ecology.

What benefit will this proposal bring?

As the proposal takes effect, it will strike the low-transactions initiated by large numbers of accounts using free bandwidth. And it will have little impact on normal transactions initiated by users.

Meanwhile, it will still allow users to send free transactions. A comparison showing the relationship between free bandwidth and free transactions is displayed in the table below,

After the daily free bandwidth is reduced to 600, it will still be able to support an account for sending 2 free TRX transfer transactions or 1 free smart contract calling transaction per day.

Summary

After the proposal to reduce the daily free bandwidth of the account from 1500 to 600, it is expected to decrease the volume of low-value transactions on the network, which will make it more secure for users and health for TRON.
