The aptitude for helping is intrinsic to the paths chosen by Paula. In her journey, she has found the bridge to guide Hotmart users in their experience with the platform, at the same time she instructs her students towards meeting their consciousness in her yoga classes for children.

What comes to your mind when you hear the word “Yoga”?

Meditation? Impossible stretching and poses? Something for people who are innately born flexible and a fitness lifestyle?

When you haven’t had a lot of contact with the practice, these may be some of the impressions that come to mind. And, in a certain way, they are not wrong. However, they comprise an incomplete idea of what Yoga really means.

Paula Amarante, 23 years old, is one of the people who wants to change this preconception. To her, the relationship with Yoga started in childhood, when she was about 10 years old. It was then that she started having lessons from her mother, who was already a Yoga instructor for more than a decade.

She was the person responsible for introducing the practice to her daughter. And, for about a year now, Paula exerts this influence by teaching Kundalini Yoga to children aged 4–6, in two schools in Belo Horizonte.

At Hotmart, Paula is part of the Support Intelligence team, and helps our customers to have a better experience with the platform. And as an instructor of Kundalini Yoga, she guides her students into a universe of imagination, where the little ones can explore their feelings and learn, from a very young age, how to connect to themselves.

For those who are not familiar with its origins, the practice of Yoga goes way beyond mere physical exercise. It is a decision, a state of mind. Yoga is philosophy of life, which could be understood as the unity of body, mind, and soul.

Introducing this philosophy to children can really help in their development. The goal is to allow them to become happier, more conscious of their unique way of being, and expanding their perception of themselves and the world around them.

For Kundalini Yoga, specifically, the practices are more dynamic, energetic, and objective. The classes for children include poses, meditation, and muscle and metabolism relaxation, all done through stories and games.

In every lesson, Paula aims to find a connection between her students and the stories she brings to the classroom. By starting each lesson with what she calls “warriors warm-up”, the children are encouraged to step into this playful universe, where they can become whatever they want to become, including animals or even objects.

In every transformation, there is learning and a quality that stimulates the harmony of nervous and glandular systems. And, at the same time, a synchronization of chakras and magnetic bodies.

This way, Paula manages to make the little ones incorporate the practices that guide the fundamentals of Yoga in a light, fun way, without them ever realizing it. Little by little, the children start to apply this knowledge outside of the classroom as well.

“To me, it is very rewarding to see this results in the children. When one of them has fallen out with a classmate, for example, and manages to express her feelings by saying ‘I know you’re mad at me, but I still love you’, it’s the most beautiful thing.”

Recently, Paula chose the book Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, which gathers short bedtime stories about the life of 100 women, told in the style of a fairy tale.

Always choosing experiences that demonstrate the strength of a confident heart and the power to change the world, Paula works towards using her skills and talents to help others.

And she does the same at Hotmart. Since she joined the company, in 2017, she has used her empathy and communication skills to provide customer service to hundreds of people who need guidance in the platform. Alongside a united and harmonious team, she is committed to finding the best alternatives and solutions so that people have a better experience.
