Silence

In music, the melody and rhythm are composed not only by the notes you play, but also by the silence you observe, the beats where you rest, the moments when you….don’t play.

That silence helps create memory. That silence builds identity. We recognize a tune by how it breathes and where it pulses. Silence makes music.

Similarly, silence or rest makes our lives. We achieve a greater, more memorable “tune” if you will, with our life’s work, by deciding what not to do, as much as deciding what to do and keeping busy.

What choices will you make today — to do and be busy, or to not do, and observe rest — that make your life meaningful and memorable?

How will those choices affect your team?
