As we know, March is a pretty nuts here in sunny Miami — several shows, tons of parties, festivals and many other happenings. It’s downright impossible to do it all. We’ve managed to whittle it down to a selection of must-sees and dos. No need to thank us, it’s what we do. ;-) How? Well for starters, Winter Music Week (or whatever ya call it) is getting its own guide where we’ll go into detail on all of the best events during that amazing week of insanity.

This month marks the inaugural #BeCAUSE, a new monthly event in which Stache and Gummdrops team up with a local charity or nonprofit to spread awareness for a worthy cause. Benefiting the Biscayne Water Keepers, the first #BeCause Thursday will feature live music by the Hongs and a DJ set by Aaron Johnston (Brazilian Girls).

In anticipation of Miami Beach’s 100th anniversary, local historian, and author, Carolyn Klepser presents this illustrated lecture that looks at early Miami Beach as a product of its place and time.
9O MILES

90 Miles is a multimedia interactive installation and dialog on immigration and human rights. This ongoing crocheting project uses 90 miles of multi-colored yarn, creating a continuous strip totaling approximately 1.5 miles, yet if unraveled the sum is equal to 90 miles, symbolic of the distance between Key West and Cuba.

Sun Breaker is the current installation by New York-based artist Ruby Sky Stiler at Locust Projects. Stiler expands on her sculptural engagement with the female form and its manifestation in the varied dialects of twentieth-century abstraction.
