Jorge Velasquez Solo Debut
This Wednesday, October 23rd, Jorge Velasquez along with his band, will be performing on the red carpet at Bardot. Enjoy the sounds of a natural indie expression, as Velasquez launches his solo project, sharing a warm set of undisclosed songs produced in the last three years upon his return to Miami, FL from South America.
Background
Jorge’s love story with music starts at age eight with an acoustic guitar given to him by parents whom soon came to realize he could learn songs by ear. Later, he received training in jazz guitar and then moved to Miami to study creative production.
For Velasquez, music has no boundaries, no roadmaps, no limits. He has collaborated and/or been part of different bands from South America and back to the Miami local scene — Nicole Chirino, Monte Rosa, Tremends, and Problem Kids.
He’s collaborated as a lead guitarist and songwriter with the band Autobus that has had the opportunity to share stages with renamed acts, such as: Franz Ferdinand, Jane’s Addiction, The Killers, and Molotov.
When Jorge moved to Miami, him and his friend Mario Garibaldi (Modernage), created Hunters of the Alps. Opening for the likes of Twin Shadow and Tan Lines, has made the band one of the most recognized local electronic projects in the last year.

“Velasquez” is released to rich out the market that neither of the previous projects mentioned do. This is a timeless and extemporary, it is a blend of sounds; cultures, words, phrases and melodies, that will engage the crowd in a way that only real feel, and real music does.
