Stop Doubting God!
Strengthen your Faith by Drawing Near to Him.
Doubt! It means to be uncertain about something or to believe that something may not be true or is unlikely.
There are times in your life when you may second guess yourself in the things you do or say. Sometimes, you may even have doubts about your own salvation, wondering whether what you believe is true and whether God is real.
This often happens when you’re going through tremendous stress in your life and are trying to make sense of unanswered prayers or God’s silence when you need Him most.
Doubting God can hold you back and keep you from fulfilling your dreams.
When you doubt God’s goodness and power to work in your life, you lose sight of the foundation of who you are as a believer.
Jesus gave His life for you, and this should give you an assurance that He loves you and is always with you.
As it says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
This powerful verse reminds you of His immense love and the promise of eternal life.
In your walk with God, things will not always be obvious, and you will be required to trust Him even when you can’t see anything. That is called faith, which is what being a believer is all about.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Faith means trusting God’s plan even when you can’t see the way forward.
But even during such times, you should never move away from putting your trust in Him, because He will never let you down.
Proverbs 3:5–6 encourages you with, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Trusting God means relying on His wisdom, not your own.
Remember the story of Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciples, who doubted Jesus’ resurrection until he saw Him with his own eyes.
In John 20:27, Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Thomas’s story reminds you that even when you doubt, Jesus invites you to come closer, see His truth, and strengthen your faith.
So, when doubt creeps in, remind yourself of God’s promises and His unwavering love for you.
Reflect on Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.”
In stillness, you can find reassurance in His presence and sovereignty.
Remember, doubt is part of the human experience, but it doesn’t have to define your faith.
Trust in God, lean on His promises, and let your faith be strengthened even in the midst of uncertainty.
