Issue 31: One month until the election
There’s one month and three days until the election, which I personally want to get over with already. Until then, here are some well-reported stories on politics:
- Evangelicals, Once Skeptical Of Trump, Have Rallied To His Side by Farai Chideya. “‘If you are an evangelical and a believer and not just someone who stops by on Sunday or maybe just Easter and Christmas,’ said Chris, ‘I don’t see how you could even consider Donald Trump.’”
- Scenes of Protest and Peace from the Democratic Convention. Photos by Natalie Keyssar. The Democratic National Convention has been marked by disunity among Democrats, who protested both on the floor of the convention and in the streets of Philadelphia as the 2016 event began.
- Why Are Asian Americans Politically Invisible? by Alex Wagner. Asian Americans are the fastest growing voting block in the country — but we rarely see politicians actively courting their support.
Please vote, and remember that the local ballot matters too!
If you see any great stories by women of color, please send them my way!
