On October 31, 2010, a killer would strike the family that lived at 7052 North Ohio 2 in Sandusky, Ohio.

Devon 16 had returned from Sunday morning church service to find the house quiet. He went upstairs to his bedroom and started playing video games. It wouldn’t be until about 1:30 that afternoon that he noticed just how quiet the house was.

He went downstairs and started to look for his mother, Susan Liske. He found her and his step-father Bill Liske in their master bedroom, still in bed. With the maroon comforter pulled up high over both of their heads.

He started talking to his mom as he walked around the bed to her side. He tapped her leg hanging out of the cover, then pulled the comforter down a little to try and wake her. But that’s when he saw the blood-stained pillowcase.

The first thing he thought was his mom was pulling a Halloween prank on him. But as the scene before him came into focus, he knew it wasn’t a prank.

He ran out of the house before looking for his brother Derek Griffin, 23. Not knowing what had happened, and if he was in danger by staying in the house.
