Cop Actor Michael Jace Kills His Wife — Affluential True Crime
An actor who was best known for his role as a Los Angeles Police officer in The Shield found himself on the other side of the table in real life.
April Jace had asked her husband Michael for a divorce, but his biggest concern was that she had found someone new.
Jealousy was nothing new from Michael. He even had a problem with his wife competing as a competitive runner on a co-ed team.
So on May 19, 2014, when his wife arrived home, Michael shot her in the back. He had been waiting for her to come inside, holding the gun, looking to take her life.
But he didn’t stop at shooting her, he taunted April, “You like to run so much. Why don’t you try running to heaven?”
Then while their two young sons aged 8 and 5 watched, he shot her in each leg.
He didn’t just want her dead. He wanted her to be in pain and die slowly from blood loss. And all while his two children watched the horror unfold in front of them.
Michael then texted his in-laws to come and get the kids since he had killed their mother. “Come to the house. I shot April.”
After texting his in-laws, he called 911 and reported that he had just shot his wife.
