Growing into a Killer
Even as a child Sean Vincent Gillis was known for his violent tendencies.
He was born on June 24, 1962, in Baton Rouge, Louisianna. His father, Norman, left the family not long after the birth of Sean. His mother, Yvonne, who worked for a TV station, raised Sean with her parents’ help.
Neighbors of the Gillis family remembers numerous outburst from the young Sean over the years. Once at 3 am, they were woken to Sean banging on garbage cans in the front yard.
Neighbor Carolyn Clay remembered that night, “He was prone to fits of anger like that. He was an angry young boy.”
Sean started accumulating arrests at the age of 17. Including traffic citations, DUI, possession of marijuana, criminal trespassing, and contempt of court.
After graduating high school, Sean bounced between community college and low paying jobs while never leaving home.
