The Times wrote about the case, saying it had all the classic ingredients of a fictional who done it. A brutal massacre in the peaceful English countryside, overbearing religious parents, an unstable daughter with mental issues, a playboy son, and an angry ex-girlfriend.

The Family

Neville and June Bamber owned the White House Farm located near the Essex village of Tolleshunt D’Arcy.

They adopted a baby who had been conceived out of wedlock to a vicar’s daughter and a married army sergeant. They brought home the six-weeks-old baby and called him Jeremy Bamber.

A few years later, they adopted a girl named Sheila, who they nicknamed Bambi.

Both children were raised in a well off household and never wanted for anything. But in contrast, their parents were devoutly religious and set rigorous demands on them both.

Growing up, Jeremy was very against farming and let his father know. His father wanted his son to carry on the family business of farming and fought his son on his decision.
