Jason Robert Barkhouse left school at an early age to work. He got married at 19 to Valerie and the couple lived with his mother Beulah in East Dalhousie, Nova Scotia, Canada. He built a small house down the hill from his mother’s house and the couple moved there to start a family.
Their first child, a son named Wade Jason, passed away at just 7-months-old. A few years later they had a daughter. Melissa Gayle was very ill until she was 2-years-old but survived.
