Everyone loves having the freedom to do what you want and what you like without worrying about things like money or being controlled by everyone else. It sounds totally awesome. However, reality proved us wrong. Most of us feel that we can finally get happiness if we really have the freedom. Instead, people still struggle and live unhappily, despite having such freedom, if they can’t be freed from their thoughts, feelings, and emotions in which problems can never be resolved.

In fact, freedom should come from the inside rather than from the outside. This is what I call the true freedom. Only when you can find inner peace or the balance within yourself will you feel such a sense of freedom which can last forever, even though you are unable to do what you want. Therefore, it is always important to look into your “heart” in order to understand yourself better so that you can be the one who is in control, instead of letting the “heart” control you.

True freedom occurs when you truly accept who you are by choosing to face and then embrace your fears, problems, and vulnerability bravely instead of running away. No one is perfect! It is okay to be imperfect. As we can never measure up to everyone else’s expectations, we all tend to have low levels of self-esteem in certain ways which result in every one having a “black dog” (depression) at different degrees. No matter what it is (i.e. black dog) in your “heart”, never be afraid to face it and to ask for help if needed. As long as you are willing to face vulnerabilities and learn how to see yourself from the inside, you are moving toward true freedom!
