We Saw Pope Francis’ Private Door at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City
It was as luxurious as one would expect
Like many, I have been keenly interested in the news lately to stay up to date on the progress of Pope Francis and his ability to overcome his recent bout of illness.
For those who have not heard, the Pope was hospitalized a few days ago for pneumonia and a respiratory tract infection. He was placed on oxygen before reports of kidney failure also started to surface. Today, I read a headline that there has been a slight improvement in his health, but the Vatican remains on tenterhooks while they wait to see what the outcome of this will be.
He is, of course, 88 years old. So, it is reasonable to expect that he may not make it through this. Already, there have been talks of who will take his place as they prepare for the worst since he is still considered in critical condition as I write this.
You may find it interesting to read all this from me and then hear me say that I am not religious at all. I am, instead, a spiritual person. I believe in nature and the balance of all things; I don’t believe in one all-encompassing body that will grant me permission to heaven or forsake me to…
