v0.3 (Apr 21, 2024)

Updates:

• Watermark-based alignment. When an image is cropped, rotated, or otherwise altered, Trufo will be able to use the watermark to re-align the image, enabling fuzzy authentication in these settings.
• iOS application support. The API and servers are now configured to support device-based applications. In particular, Trufo’s official iOS camera app is in the works!

v0.2a (Mar 19, 2024)

Updates:

• Improved invisible (heavy) watermark. The new watermark is around 25% less visible, 10% more robust, and 50% faster to encode/decode. Backwards compatibility is maintained.

Updates:

• Improved invisible (light, medium) watermarks. The new watermarks are around 50% less visible while maintaining the same durability and scalability. Backwards compatibility is maintained.
• Improved fuzzy authentication. The differential analysis now includes basic behavior around benign color filters and adversarial attacks.

v0.1 (Feb 21, 2024)

We are excited to release the first version of our app! Here is a quick overview of what there is:

• An invisible watermark. It comes in three styles: light, medium and heavy. Use the light one if you value image quality and the heavy one if you value watermark durability.
• A patterned watermark. It is a checkerboard panel added to the bottom of the image, either inside or outside the image.
• A metadata watermark. It attaches the requisite data, encrypted, and leaves the image alone.
• Preview functionality. You can play around with settings to see what the watermark would look like before committing.
• Google account integration. Login quickly with your Google account.
• Source attribution. Decoded images will be attributed to your account.
• Content tags. Attach these to your watermarked content.
  - Creative Commons licenses.
  - Do-not-train assertions.
  - Origination claims.
• Cryptographic validation. If the content is a secure exact match, you will know.
• Fuzzy authentication. If the content is a convincing match, you will be able to see which areas have changed and which areas have not.
• Fast encoding and decoding. Most operations take less than a second.
• Informational pages. From FAQs to benchmark results, these articles are a resource for you.
