Sylvester Croom recently retired from coaching after years of serving as a college coach, as well as an assistant in the NFL. However, Coach Croom quickly found a new gig in the form of Senior Vice President of The Senior Bowl in Mobile, which is where he had relocated to after his retirement.

Many Mississippi State fans have sour grapes toward Croom with how his tenure turned out based on wins and losses, however I will always be grateful for the culture change that Mississippi State needed after some terrible years on the gridiron, and Sylvester Croom brought that as well as taking Mississippi State to a bowl game the right way in 2007. Sylvester Croom would finish his Mississippi State coaching career with a record of 21–38, but laid the groundwork for the most successful run of Mississippi State football, which Bulldog fans are currently experiencing.

Coach Croom will surely be successful in his new gig in Mobile, and I for one can not wait to see how our former coach does in his position.
