This morning President Donald Trump signed a revised executive order barring citizens from six Muslim-majority countries from traveling to the United States. The new ban removed Iraq from the list and offers exemptions for several groups, including visa-holders and people with green cards as of January 27th. The ban will go into effect on March 16th, but legal challenges are expected.

Amy Davidson argues that Trump’s new ban challenges the very values of America and questions to what degree we will allow our new president to ignore the opinions of the people decrying his discriminatory principles.

A day after North Korea test-launched four ballistic missiles that landed in the sea northwest of Japan, Trump said the U.S. stands with Japan “100%” in defending itself against Kim Jong-un’s regime. Kim said the launch was a practice-run for a North Korean attack on U.S. military bases in Japan. Trump ordered the military to deploy advanced missile-defense systems to South Korea in attempts to aid American allies in the region in defending against Pyongyang.

In response to Trump’s baseless claim over the weekend that former President Obama wiretapped his phones in Trump Tower during the 2016 election, Senator John McCain called on the current president to back up his incendiary claim.
