Secretary of Transportation’s Ties to China
Okay, Trump is vile. Let’s start that way. That has probably nothing to do with this post, but it’s fun to say. And true so… Anyway, let’s talk about China for just a sec. First of all, they don’t like the United States. Second, they cheat. STOP! — — — — I’m not talking about the Chinese people. I’m talking about the government. Not their government because they don’t vote and have choice who runs the country in which the only rights that have are the ones the government has yet gotten around to eliminating.
China has this very unique way to hold onto all its power, and it is rather similar to what Trump is doing. It’s a very easy one-step process of totally not caring about anything. Now, that may seem hard for nice people, but Trump and probably everyone he’s appointed to his administration are not nice…at all.
Therefore, it’s easy to imagine that they would embrace anyone who is also completely and totally selfish.
Bring in Elaine Chao, Trump’s new Secretary of Transportation. Yes, she’s Mitch McConnell’s wife, and that’s totally effed up. Yes, Mitch McConnell favors further ties with the Chinese government regardless of human rights violations and probably has to bow down to his own wife who likely controls everything he does and doesn’t do in Congress.
Trump appointed Chao to be Secretary of Transportation for several reasons. Her connections to China will make this country worse for several very different and even more scary reasons.
Let’s start with Jiang Zemin. You might not know him. He was president in China from 1993 to 2003. However, he still holds tremendous power, even over the current president, Xi Jinping. That’s because his loyalists are still in power. Also, he has tons of money and he massively increased the budget of the PSB, or public security bureau, before leaving office so they only listen to him even though he’s 90 and holds no title in government.
Oh yeah, and he also showed his great power by instructed said police force to imprison all Falun Gong practitioners and forcibly remove their organs while they’re still alive and without anesthesia. He then allowed a market for “live” organs to sold and transplanted into rich non-Falun Gong patients that hospitals across China. Undercover operatives at several NGOs worked hard to determine that this was happening and produce a more than 650 page report detailing everything they found.
So yeah, Jiang Zemin has some power. HE’S ALSO ONE OF ELAINE CHAO’S CLOSEST FRIENDS! No, seriously. It’s ridiculous. They met through her father when she was a kid and have remained family friends for decades. So, I’m pretty sure she’ll do whatever Jiang Zemin says.
Now that we’ve established her motivation, let’s see. Why don’t we move to the harsh reality that you can’t outsource construction jobs. Now, you might get the idea that you could dismantle a factory or even a road into tiny pieces, put it on a ship and move it to another country to be reassembled, but that’s very rare. So, you can’t outsource construction of roads, bridges, airports, and other things the DOT is in charge of.
Oh wait, I have a very simple solution: Elaine Chao, Jiang Zemin, Donald Trump, and a bunch of dumb rich people will compromise with the Chinese government to bring in (or, as the Chinese government calls it, “import”) workers from China to build the roads. Take a look at my post about Job Growth In America (With Chinese Characteristics) referring to Alibaba’s partnership with Trump to bring a million jobs back to America.
I honestly don’t want the Chinese government building our roads, our traffic lights that they can hack, all those strips we have on U.S. roads to measure speed between two strips, all the underground technology and pipes, and so on. Who the heck would want that? (I’m told I’d get more ad revenue if curse less, and ya know, writers don’t money so, to the get the word out, I guess I’ll use wholesome words despite the disgust a lot of have for this very issue.
The Chinese government and military already hack into so many institutions in this country, and now the leader of the transportation sector in the United States is loyal only to China? I don’t think so. If we can’t get her out of office, we can only hope that she’s not very good at what she wants to do…or what her elders in China want to make her do.
To sum up, they could insert Chinese under our roads, monitor every move we make with sensors on the roads, watch us with traffic cams above the roads, and do way more with satellites much higher above the roads. Also, if you choose to believe it, they can disable all the traffic lights whenever they want. They could even use poor materials to build the roads badly while charging such a high price that, while exorbitant, would lead one to believe they are overcharging for standard production rather than subpar roads that are built to break so we can’t get around.
Prediction: China will build driverless cars, put them on our roads, whether roads built here by China or roads built by Americans, and only pick up passengers that they think should get to work on time: Chinese people and those who can do good for Chinese government by showing up to work. Those cars can also be reprogrammed to drive you wherever the Chinese government wants you to go. You can hack a car, and if the Chinese government actually builds the thing, they won’t even have to hack. They’ll just use whatever existing “quality management” software that require in those cars in order to ensure “harmony.” That word “harmony” is one of their favorites, and so few people know what they really mean. I’ve met far too many people that actually agree with what China is doing. They say they’re supporting development, trying to partner with the U.S., and other such nonsense. I guess their propaganda is working.
So, in conclusion, yeah, things be bad (I put a lot of thought into that conclusion).
So, what can we do in this situation? Frankly, it’s a long process unless you just want to kick out all the people that A) look Chinese, B) are Chinese, C) might have once been Chinese, and D) profit from partnering with the enemy.
That last one though…So much partnering with the Chinese government has been undertaken by rich corporations and individuals, and the Chinese people have so little to do with it. In fact, it’s not always Internet censorship that prevents them from knowing what’s going on. It’s also the fact that they are told never to question anything and to only do what they’re told because to question anything or slow down your production is A) disloyal to the government and/or B) dishonorable to your parents because your mom will have a heartattack if you’re arrested for being disloyal to the government.
So, again, what can we do? Well, China loves money. They employ a very linear sort of thinking that conjoins money and power, and while this won’t work in the long run, I think it’s best we don’t wait around for the long run. So….
MOVE TO INDIA!
For god sakes, it’s so damn easy. They have roughly the same population, which is a gross oversimplification about the availability of a workforce but nonetheless true AND they’re not against us. Moreover, they’re a democracy, their current president Narendra Modi is doing everything he can to bring his Made in India movement happen and happen as fast as humanly possible.
Why we moved all of our jobs to a ruthless and systematically abusive dictatorship when there were so many opportunities in India is something I’ll never understand. We gave them plenty of service jobs. I mean, they can speak English, they answer the phones when you call literally any Customer Service number, and they want to work hard. So, they’re clearly better than China. I mean, honestly, they have the largest democracy in the world; they like us; they want to coexist with America; and they also happen to hate China, which is a nice bonus. Moreover, I think most people in this country have more familiarity with Indian culture than Chinese culture. The absolutely ignorant notion that India is all about yoga and curry is nonetheless more than people know about China.
So, what can we do? Just by stuff from India. If you’re rich and planning to outsource, send our jobs in India. Boycott products from China…I mean that includes, like, everything so…try to boycott products from China. And speak out. Go visit China. Go visit China AND THEN speak out. Choose to second-guess whatever you see and here in order to ask yourself whether that situation was prepared for you so that you have a favorable opinion about working in concert with the Chinese government
And most importantly, follow everything Trump’s new Secretary of Transportation, Elaine Chao, is doing to our roads, bridges, airports, etc. Those are critical infrastructure. If you live in D.C. like I do, you know the roads are a mess. Imagine what would happen if all the roads to Congress were built by a regime that doesn’t like the idea of us having an elected Congress.
Most importantly, though, stay strong. Stay focused. Keep organizing your thoughts. Keep protesting in the streets. Keep getting ready for the next fight. Make sure you’re clear in your arguments, and if someone actually pays attention to what you want from your democratically elected leaders, keep your cool, present your ideas while speaking to theirs, and never back down until they do what they were elected to do: serve you.
