Welcoming Aashin Nagpal as Sitka’s Head of Engineering

In his new role, Aashin Nagpal is leading a team of engineers who progressively bring order to the chaos of medicine. Working closely with clinical practitioners and patients and rapidly iterating on the product and workflow to solve real problems in real clinics, the engineering team is building something radically different.

As a small startup, everything and everyone matters. In this week’s Sitka Spotlight, we’re chatting with Aashin about his new role and the growing Sitka team.

Why did you choose Sitka?

Sitka is an innovative early stage startup in healthcare and I love that I can help shape the company from the ground up. During my interview process, I collaborated with people across teams and their passion and confidence in the mission was an important factor. Together, we all want to help patients get better care and we’re building Sitka to do that.

How would you describe the remote work culture?

The culture is collaborative and positive — and I learned that this was an intentional and thoughtful culture that was designed from the start. Although the pandemic has made it impossible to meet the team in person, I have built relationships with the team through thoughtful company events, including our Monday Morning Ritual which is hosted by a different team member each week. It’s a great way to learn about my coworker’s lives outside of the office!

What are you currently reading?

With so much changing often, I’m mostly reading news about tech companies and technologies and staying informed on trends in healthtech and technology.
