TrueFi is all-in at ETH Denver | Events & Team Guide

In this article we cover who we are as a company, what we are doing at ETH Denver, who exactly from the team will be there, and what we value we intend on bringing to the conference.

What is TrueFi?

TrueFi is a decentralized lending marketplace which allows asset managers to launch bespoke financial products on-chain. It allows borrowers to access competitively priced capital with no collateral requirements, and lenders of all kinds to allocate capital across a diverse set of high-yield opportunities.

In its first year of growth, TrueFi has:

• Surpassed $1Bn in TVL
• Originated $1Bn in loans
• Generated $12mm in interest for lenders
• Generated $1.2mm in fees for TRU governance participants

This was done all while serving only a small segment of the niche crypto-native borrower market.

Our goal is to build TrueFi into the learning protocol for all global lending.

We’ve started with unsecured loans to crypto-native borrowers, are now expanding to non-crypto lending through partner portfolios, and finally, are opening the marketplace to independent asset managers to build their own portfolios.

Why are we excited to get to ETH Denver this year?

We have spent the past year building the protocol, growing the marketplace, building partnerships, and crystallizing the vision. Along the way, we’re proud and grateful to have attracted tens of thousands of followers, community members, builders, hodlers, and governance contributors — most of whom our team has never met in person!

ETH Denver is TrueFi’s first big (post-lockdown) in-person event, and we’re thrilled to finally be meeting many of our old TrueFi friends IRL, and make many new friends, too. We’ll have a lot to announce regarding the future of TrueFi, both one-to-one and at our various panels and workshops, and we’ll cap it all off with a huge, public celebration at our DeFi Valentine’s Day party — free and open to all, but selling out (RSVP required for entry) fast!

From our Engineering Team, Technical Workshops at ETH Denver HQ: Meet TrueFi engineer Justyna Broniszewska, for a zero-to-one coding workshop to teach ETH Denver’s newest builders how to deploy their first dApp using UseDapp — an open source framework for rapid dApp development, created by the EthWorks team, now part of TrueFi. Details to be announced soon.

Private dinner, for TrueFi partners, investors, and media: We’ll be hosting a curated, ~20-person dinner for TrueFi’s closest present and future collaborators — by invite only, at the end of the week. From all of us & our partners, to you, open for all: No one needs to be alone for Valentine’s Day — so come drink, dance, mingle, and play games with some of the top projects and builders in DeFi, at TrueFi’s DeFi Valentine Party, hosted with our friends Balancer Labs, Perpetual Protocol, SolaceFi, and CowSwap.

Expect an open bar, a dedicated dance floor curated by Denver’s finest local DJ talent, a separate networking area featuring custom swag from TrueFi and our partners… and, for a little nostalgic treat: a Super Smash Bros tournament. You’re sure to leave in good spirits, with a deeper connection to both DeFi and the Denver music and tech scene.

Tickets will drop in batches (first on TrueFi Discord, then across all partner socials) and an RSVP will be required to enter. The event is sure to sell out, and doors will close at 1000 person capacity.

Meet the Team: Who, Where, When

Close to 12 members of our ~110 person team will be attending the conference, from across the executive team, as well as engineering, marketing, product, and business development departments. It’s likely you can finally meet all your favorite TrueFi Discord pseudo-anons in one place! You’ll have best luck meeting our team at our TrueFi booth, or at any event/session we’re part of producing (described above).

We have a very strong core team coming to the event, as well as a number of teammates coming just to hack and socialize. If you see anyone wearing TrueFi swag, be sure to say hello!

Our core on-the-ground team, dedicated to making the conference a win for our protocol and our community:

Rafael Cosman: Rafael is the CEO & Co-founder of TrustToken, developers of the definitive unsecured lending protocol TrueFi, as well as five of the world’s most transparent, on-chain attested stablecoins including TUSD, collectively moving billions of dollars around the world each month. He loves AI, paragliding, and climbing things.

Antoni Hryniewiecki: Marketing/Events

Łukasz Stoczyński: Business Development — Łukasz is responsible for developing business partnerships of all sorts. Whether you are an investor, lender, borrower or just interested in exploring potential business opportunities, he is your go-to-person.

Justyna Broniszewska: Justyna Broniszewska — senior blockchain engineer, experienced in running developer onboarding bootcamps & workshops. Justyna will lead a workshop during ETH Denver.

Bartek Rutkowski: Senior Blockchain Developer, runs internal & external bootcamps & workshops. Bartek has a deep passion & understanding of DeFi. He will be a judge & mentor at the hackathon.

Matt Kielczewski: Marketing/Community/Events — Head of Community for the Americas, Matt is helping develop the upcoming TrueFi DAO that we are all so excited about. Anything social media related, this is your guy to talk to! Working hard behind the scenes, Matt is helping produce our very first in-person event, A Defi Valentines.
