Trusting News has been quieter on Medium lately. That’s because we recently revamped our website, TrustingNews.org, and have started publishing most of our content there.

It’s an exciting and long-anticipated move for us, and it’s a change we hope makes it easier for newsrooms to plug in with the work we’re doing. A lot of the journalists we aim to serve have engaged with us through our social media, our newsletter and on Medium. We want to be sure there’s also a clear connection between all of that and the collection of resources on our website.

Some highlights of our new Trusting News website:

  • We took some of our own advice and updated our website so the mission, goals and vision of Trusting News are more clearly connected to our work. The new homepage explains what we’re about, and our new About Us page includes our mission, vision and approach to our work.
  • Our About Us page also includes transparency about our founding principles, including information on how funders affect our work, who we work with and our commitment to DEIB.
  • We have a new Impact page that highlights some of the impact and scope of our work, including testimonials from partner journalists, case studies and the research we’ve invested in.
  • Our new Training and Resource page lays out the ways you can connect with and learn from our team and strategies, both in-person and through self-guided resources.

Stay connected with us

We’re not sunsetting our Medium — we’ll still be posting occasionally. But if you want to stay in touch, here are ways to connect with us.

  • Subscribe to our newsletter. Our weekly Trust Tips newsletter is the best way to stay connected with us. Not only do we share one, quick actionable tip each week for how journalists can earn trust, but it’s also where we share announcements about trainings, programs and new research.
  • Follow us on social media. We share all our recent content on our social platforms and often also highlight recent examples of great work from our newsroom partners. If you don’t already, go ahead and follow us on LinkedIn, where we’re investing more energy in both learning and sharing lately. We also do still post on X (formerly Twitter), though we’ve scaled back our investment there.
  • Self-guided resources. If you’re new to us or new to building trust, we have many self-directed resources to get you started. A free, self-paced Poynter course; online training guides called Trust Kits; and a newsroom culture guide, Dimensions of Difference. Check out even more of our offerings here.
  • Email us anytime. Our team is happy to connect you to resources or offer support. Reach us at info@TrustingNews.org.

At Trusting News, we learn how people decide what news to trust and turn that knowledge into actionable strategies for journalists. We train and empower journalists to take responsibility for demonstrating credibility and actively earning trust through transparency and engagement. Learn more about our work, vision and team. Subscribe to our Trust Tips newsletter. Follow us on X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn.
