Hello September, the best season of the year! The weather is not quite as hot, the air is becoming brisk, and school should be back in session. I love September, especially when I am out enjoying it. Hope everyone is having a good start this September, as I have.

Let’s start today’s update and find out what’s been happening behind the scenes at TrustNote for the first two weeks of September!

TrustNote 2.0

Two months ago, our developers started the very project to implement the Proof-of-Work based 2-tier consensus and set the goal to release the first minable test-net in Q3. After much hard work, we are confident to announce that the first minable test-net for the Alpha version of TrustNote 2.0 will be released at the end of this month.

This powerful update to the TrustNote network will support mining clients, multiple platforms, and a brand-new DAG explorer. An important new feature coming to TrustNote 2.0 is the PoW Consensus (TrustME-PoW) which will also be announced when the test-net launches.

Despite experiencing some rain delays, we are proud to report that we are still on track with our goals, and we are very excited to share these innovations with the world!

TrustNote Software Developers Network (TSDN)

TrustNote Software Developers Network

If you’ve been following us on Twitter, you may have seen that we’ve recently released SDKs (Software Development Kits) for Rust, Python, and JavaScript. We’ve also published some code, as well as video examples for some fun applications and games.

Our hope that these will help spur your own creativity and we invite everyone from all over the world to participate and build their own decentralized applications (Dapps) running on the TrustNote network. Many applications will find value in utilizing the fast underlying DAG architecture for micro-transactions at a fraction of the cost of the competition.

TrustNote SDKs

Another exciting announcement is that the official website of the TrustNote Software Developers Network (TSDN) has been updated with an enhanced user experience. The new website brings better user experience and boasts even more content. In addition to the SDK and samples mentioned above, you will find some interesting tasks waiting to be claimed. Please visit the TSDN website and claim the task that you’re interested in and be a part of a brilliant team.

Our Community Activities

Smart Token Contest

On the 8th of September, following the rules of the contest, 8 judges from the TrustNote Telegram and Github communities each selected one entry which they felt was the best of the 21 great smart token ideas submitted during August. Five ideas were finalists:

Dr. Danish Haider’s idea for the formation of a TTT token-based decentralized exchange received a majority share of votes from the community and won the grand prize $100 US dollar gift card. Thank everyone’s participation and congratulations to Dr. Danish Haider.

Retweet the Translation you Like and Help the Volunteer Win More $TTT Reward

Two months ago, we sought volunteers to help to translate the TrustNote wallet into their native languages. We promised the community that we would evaluate the contributions made by each and every volunteer, and reward those volunteers with $TTT tokens. Two months later, we have released Japanese, Indonesian, German, and Turkish versions of the wallet, as well as a Turkish version of the iToken website! All those translations were done by our committed and hard-working community volunteers. That’s more than 1000 lines of translated text for each volunteer!

To show our appreciation for all these translators, we decided to run ‘Retweet the Translation you Like and Help the Volunteer Win More $TTT Reward‘ event from September 14th through the 22nd. The translator will win a certain amount of $TTT, based on the number of retweets. We appreciate all the contributions made by our community and want to make sure all their time and effort has been properly recognized and rewarded.

Please help your fellow TrustNote community members and retweet the translation you prefer to vote for the volunteer you feel deserves to win the reward. Please visit the TrustNote blog if you would like to find more information about this event.

TSDN Mascot Design Contest

TSDN Mascot Design Contest

Yesterday, TrustNote announced that a competition will take place to decide TSDN’s official Mascot. Designers and members of the public will be invited to submit Mascot design proposals. There will be an innovative judging process whereby a panel of 8 TrustNote community members across the globe will select the winning set of designs from a shortlist.

We invite all community members to put their creativity to work and help TSDN design a friendly, fun, playful, and colorful Mascot!
