patience, what’s that?

I’ve never been good at patience
i can’t wait for anything.
i don’t do lines.
not at publix or disney.
if i don’t have a fast pass, more than likely i won’t ride it.

the annoying thing is there’s always something positive on the other side of patience.

so during this time of COVID-19, you can imagine my level of frustration with being told that we will most likely remain in quarantine for another month.

another month?
do we really believe that it’ll only be another month?
we have no idea.
and this post isn’t about speculation.

this post is about you.
yeah i said “YOU”.

how are YOU doing?

honestly. have you asked yourself in a while?
cuz i’ve been asked a lot recently, how i’m doing.
and i’m well. very well.
except for the fact i can’t go to the beach or the movies or out on a date…
i’m making it work.
i’m working harder than ever.
and i’m keeping my sanity…for the most part.
(the moment i feel crazy, i just remind myself i’m not the tiger king, and then i feel just fine)

but how are YOU doing?

what have you learned about yourself over the last few weeks?
cuz i’ve learned, i really don’t like staying inside.
as hot as it gets outside, i really love the outdoors.
the wind and breeze, the sunlight, the birds. THE BEACH.
i love it all. it’s so refreshing.
but here we are. stuck.

do you like the alone time?
do you enjoy the stillness?
or have you had a hard time getting still?

i’ve heard mixed reviews on how people are dealing with this quarantine.
some are taking it as a blessing. a message to slow down and really take time for themselves.
others are over it.
over the kids. over netflix. OVER IT.

i’m not sure i’ve navigated this the best way yet.
i’m still figuring it out.
i haven’t exercised much.
i haven’t eaten the best.
but i’m working on it.

there’s so much more i’d like to do for myself.
read. write. sing. sleep. SLEEEEEEP.
i need to catch myself on a better schedule.
work hard, play hard. rest easy.

how are you doing that?
i really wanna know.
some of you seem like you’re thriving in the quarantine.
as for the rest of us, we’re taking it day by day.
but that’s all you really can do right?

take it moment by moment.
if something isn’t working, change it up.
try it.
this is the time to be the master of your habits.
this is the time to get to know God on a personal level.

if you’ve always wanted to write a book, do it.
if you’ve always wanted to get to know your kids on a deeper level, do it.
whatever it is, you can do it. margin the time.

you’ve been given a gift…stay home.

man, a few weeks ago, home was the last place i wanted to be.
i only went there to sleep and i rarely did that.
i was always busy. too busy.
and now i’m busy at home fighting for the moments to just stop.
and listen.
give the moment to God.
allow Him to speak.

i’m getting better at it.
are you?

let’s do it together.
margin the time.
get more efficient and clean.
tomorrow i’ll put all my clothes away and clean up my rugs.

tonight, i’ll sleep.

each day, trying to accomplish just a little more.
margining time for myself and Jesus.
after i finish this netflix show of course.
