Anti heroes.

Guilty Pleasures? Or not?

Hi there folks! Jammy here again with my latest blog entry. I know it’s been longer than a week but I am here now with my new blog entry.

Ok so as you can see by the title of this blog I am here to talk about ‘Anti Heroes’. Ok so we all know or most of us know what a anti hero is, if not in my words it is a person or character that even though they break the rules and ultimately do bad things we can’t help but like them, idolize them and cheer them on in some cases, usually because of there charming personality, or just how cool or funny they are.

Now there has been anti heroes for centuries I mean from stories to fairy tales and actual real people. But the past decade there has been many fictional anti heroes created weather it’s in a book or on a tv show. But mainly for me it is the anti heroes of television that have made a big impact on us, now I will be referring to the anti heroes of the shows I like because well this is my blog after all but I am aware there are many more that I may not reference.

The only reason I wanted to do a brief blog about this is because, as much as we love and idolize the anti heroes we see on our screens and watch on our dvd box sets, if we new people like that in real life well most of us will just view them as criminals or bad people, but the best thing about television is that they are just characters it isn’t real, so we don’t have to feel guilty or awkward about liking these characters so much. But in real life it would be a completely different story.

Okay I will give some examples of anti heroes I am big fans off, on screen ones, or the series have ended now but still.

A recently widowed now single mother of two, who is obsessed with material possessions, isn’t around her kids as much, makes bad choices, and every one who she gets close to ends up dead or caught up in her trouble, also she is a weed dealer.

A father of one (who later on finds out he is a father of two)who is a writer and who is still obsessed and in love with his ex girlfriend (mother of his daughter), but finds it hard to concentrate on writing a lot of the time, sleeps around, puts himself in bad situations, can’t say no, and not knowingly had sex with a 16 year old girl. All this but he still is loves his daughter, has feelings and is in love with his ex Karen.

Fostered as a very young child, has one sister, lives alone and works as a blood spatter analyst for Miami police department. He was born and found in blood and has had urges from a young age to kill things, his foster father noticed these urges and trained him to channel them so ultimately when he was older he would kill bad people. So he is a serial killer that kills killers basically.

Father of one (shortly after 2) married, a chemistry teacher who finds out he has lung cancer and is given a time scale on his life, worrying about money and his family he realizes that cooking and dealing meth makes you a lot of money, so as his talents as a chemistry teacher he makes a outstanding meth recipe and goes into business with a younger partner, ultimately breaking the law, getting involved with drug dealers and gangs, lying from his family and even gets involved in murder.

Ok so there are some examples of anti heroes, I didn’t mention them by character name as for those who do read this will know who they are, well most of you will. But just reading the description of those people, even though in my words, but if we knew people like this in real life we wouldn’t like them, idolize them or laugh with them.

But these are characters and it isn’t real, although there are probably people like this in real life that we wouldn’t want to meet or be associated with, but as these are characters and it is entertainment then we can cheer them on and laugh with them as much as we wan’t!
