June 25th, 2019 — President Donald Trump tweets his “complete and total endorsement” of US Senator Martha McSally from Arizona.

A brave former fighter jet pilot and warrior, Senator Martha McSally of Arizona has done an outstanding job in D.C., and is fully supportive of our agenda — she is with us all the way. Martha is strong on Crime and Borders, the 2nd Amendment, and loves our Military and Vets. She has my Complete and Total Endorsement!

This tweet comes at a curious time since the usually absent-from-Southern-Arizona-media McSally started doing multiple radio interviews, such as on Tucson’s KVOI-1030AM.

Perhaps the President was just coincidentally endorsing McSally, but then we found out about a potential opponent the incumbent Senator may have.

Daniel McCarthy, an Arizona businessman and political newcomer, may mount a primary campaign to run against Sen. Martha McSally for the Republican nomination for Senate in 2020, he confirmed Wednesday to The Arizona Republic.

McCarthy is a wealthy Republican, and Trump supporter, who started a business that grew from $500,000 in 2013 to around $70 million in 2016! The husband and wife McCarthy team invented a product named Makeup Eraser that is intended to remove makeup easily. In response to all the latest McSally news, Daniel McCarthy cleverly responded:

I was wondering why a bunch of reporters were calling me today. I’m just doing a little due diligence.

Right now we erase makeup…what else should we erase?

So with a confirmation on a possible opponent, combined with a mention of “what else should we erase?” that came after Trump’s endorsement, it was only natural for Bill Buckmaster to ask McSally, who was on his show the following day on June 26th, about the huge endorsement from the most powerful man in the world.

Sadly, Senator McSally kept dodging the Buckmaster’s question and making excuses. The audio excerpt is in the video at the top, the transcript is below.

Buckmaster: The president tweeted his “complete and total endorsement” of you on Tuesday. What was your reaction to that?

McSally: Well, I’m in the Capitol right now, Bill, so I can’t talk about the campaign. I’m on federal property so maybe we can come back at another time related to that. I just got a stay in my lane here.

Buckmaster: Okay, so that means you can’t talk about a potential challenger in your primary?

McSally: Unfortunately, I can’t. I’m literally in the United States Capitol right now in my official capacity so I’m unable to speak on the politics and campaign stuff by the laws of the land.

What is Martha McSally so afraid of to be dodging questions?
