First things first, download the TSTMKRS app (currently in beta) on iOS or Android for some epic things to do in Lagos that go beyond what you normally find when you come home. Since we’re about making sure your entire holiday is filled with memorable moments — here are our top picks for this weekend:

Friday, December 18

AFROPOLITAN VIBES AT FREEDOM PARK

Lagos’ premier event for the #idontdoclubs crowd, Afropolitan Vibes at Freedom Park is a must for anyone who’s just coming home and wanting to check out a vibrant, alternative scene that’s growing in Las Gidi. Live, original music from contemporary singer-songwriters and musicians fill Freedom park’s Amphitheater with vibes firmly rooted in African musical origins of Afro-beat, Afro-funk, Afro-hip-hop, Afro-pop and Highlife music. The only #DecemberInAfrica edition, the show starts promptly from 8.00pm and includes plenty of palm wine.

TREY SONGZ AT PEPSI RYTHM UNPLUGGED

Mr. Steal Your Girl is in for some competition when he touches down and meets the playboys of Las Gidi. Nevertheless if you’re in Lagos this weekend be sure to check out the Virginia-born stunner with the smooth vocals and see if he can learn to Shoki as Chris Brown did in his performance with WizKid in South Africa. The afterparty should be a convergence of everything champagne filled and excessive because … #decemberinlagos.

SUNDAY FUNDAY ON LAGOS LAGOON

Not everyone has a rich homie to go yachting with and even if you do, that might not be the move for getting up close and personal with #DecemberBae. Not trying to cuff just yet? Gather your entire squad on Mr. Fiki’s 10 seater boat for a private escape to Ilashe and enjoy out boozy picnic basket while you’re at it.

THE CAPTAINS’S CUP FINALS

It may be tough to grab tickets to this already sold out event but if you can squeeze your way in — there’ll be plenty of Veuve Cliquot Champagne to quench your thirst. Be prepared for the bonnets, Sunday’s finest, and of course the polo.
