In this case, the best things in life really are free. We have thousands of movies–all totally free to watch–with titles from every genre. We’ve rounded up the best free movies on Tubi TV for June 2017, including Oscar winners, audience favorites, and critical darlings.

Quartet (2013)

IMDb rating: 6.8

Rotten Tomatoes: 79%

Awards: 1 Golden Globe nomination

Dustin Hoffman directs a cast that led by Maggie Smith for this gentle-hearted comedy. The Downton Abbey star plays a literal diva who creates drama when she moves into a home for retired musicians.

Lars and the Real Girl (2007)

IMDb rating: 7.4

Rotten Tomatoes: 81%

Awards: 1 Oscar nomination, 1 Golden Globe nomination

Sweetness runs through this quirky indie about a man (Ryan Gosling) whose loneliness leads him to emotionally invest in a new relationship — with a life-size doll. It’s far more chaste than you’d expect with that description, and that’s part of its charm.

A Better Life (2011)

IMDb rating: 7.2

Rotten Tomatoes: 85%

Awards: 1 Oscar nomination

Demian Bichir gives an Academy Award-nominated performance in this drama that is heartfelt in conveying its message about a father’s love.

Bubba Ho-tep (2003)

IMDb rating: 7.2

Rotten Tomatoes: 78%

It doesn’t get much weirder — or better — than this cult favorite that stars Bruce Campbell as an aging (alive) Elvis, who must save his fellow nursing home residents from a soul-sucking mummy. Ossie Davis stars as a man who thinks he’s JFK, adding great humor and heart to this cinematic oddity.

A Personal Journey with Martin Scorsese Through American Movies (1995)

IMDb rating: 8.6

Rotten Tomatoes: 100%

Presented on Tubi in three parts, this hard-to-find documentary finds the Oscar-winning director sharing his love and knowledge of cinema in the United States.

The Iron Lady (2011)

IMDb rating: 6.4

Rotten Tomatoes: 51%

Awards: 2 Oscar wins, 1 Golden Globe win

Come for Meryl Streep’s award-winning performance … stay for Meryl Streep’s award-winning performance. The transformation for the actress not only works due to her talent, but also thanks to the Academy-Award-winning work done by the makeup team.

Night Moves (2013)

IMDb rating: 6.0

Rotten Tomatoes: 86%

Kelly Reichardt (Certain Women) directs this low-key thriller starring Jesse Eisenberg, Dakota Fanning, and Peter Sargaard.

City of Men (2007)

IMDb rating: 7.3

Rotten Tomatoes: 76%

The companion film to Oscar nominee City of God explores more of the rough life in Rio de Janeiro’s favelas. Violence and grit reign in this crime drama about young gang members.

Gladiator (2000)

IMDb rating: 8.5 (#46 on the IMDb Top 250)

Rotten Tomatoes: 76%

Awards: 5 Oscars, 12 nominations

Ridley Scott directs this modern classic that remains quotable and engrossing. Russell Crowe won an Oscar for his portray of Maximus, but we also love Joaquin Phoenix’s nominated role as Commodus.

Gladiator leaves Tubi on June 30.

True Grit (2010)

IMDb Rating: 7.6

Rotten Tomatoes: 96%

Awards: 10 Oscar nominations

One of the few cases where the remake is just as good as the original, this Coen Brothers Western was a huge hit with critics and audiences. Starring Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Hailee Steinfeld, and Josh Brolin, True Grit made $171 million at the U.S. box office.

True Grit leaves Tubi on June 30.

Young Adult (2011)

IMDb Rating: 6.3

Rotten Tomatoes: 80%

Awards: 1 Golden Globe nomination

Charlize Theron is bristly and watchably unlikable in this Jason Reitman film as a YA writer who returns to her hometown to seduce her (married) former love (Patrick Wilson). Young Adult is darkly funny, but it doesn’t spare its heroine any criticism–and she deserves every bit.

Oldboy (2003)

IMDb Rating: 8.4 (#66 on IMDb’s Top 250)

Rotten Tomatoes: 80%

Park Chan-wook’s revenge thriller features killer action, perfect cinematography, and a haunting story that will be hard to shake for some viewers. Watch it (or rewatch it), but make sure that you’re not having dumplings for dinner. Actually, just don’t watch it while you’re eating, okay?

The Machinist (2004)

IMDb rating: 7.7

Rotten Tomatoes: 77%

Christian Bale’s physical transformation gets most of the buzz (and it’s well deserved), but don’t overlook the taut direction from Brad Anderson. The Machinist is nightmarish in the best of ways.

Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2012)

IMDb Rating: 6.5

Rotten Tomatoes: 78%

This charming comedy starring Jason Segel and Ed Helms walks the line between indie film and mainstream comedy. It has broad appeal, but still carries the signature quirk of its directors, Mark and Jay Duplass.

A Fish Called Wanda (1988)

IMDb rating: 7.6

Rotten Tomatoes: 93%

Awards: 1 Oscar, 3 nominations

At once smart and sublimely silly, this comedy features a brilliant performance from Kevin Kline (that deservedly earned him an Oscar). It melds a caper with a romantic comedy, and every joke hits.
