Given that Tom Hardy is one of the most captivating actors in Hollywood, the premiere of his new FX show Taboo has drawn quite a lot of attention. In recent years, top actors and actresses have added television series credentials to their resumes, helping spawn what many see as the greatest era in television history.

In the case of Tom Hardy, he’s so accomplished in both television and cinema that it is a bit tough to classify him. We simply know one thing: The man captivates.

You may be wondering what Taboo is about. Per Terri Schwartz of IGN, “Starring Tom Hardy and created by Knight, Hardy, and his father Chips Hardy, Taboo tells the story of Englishman James Delaney, whose father’s death spurs him to return to London from Africa after being thought dead for more than a decade. James’s surprise appearance at the late Mr. Delaney’s funeral throws a wrench in the plans of his estranged half sister Zilpha (Oona Chaplin) and her husband Thorne Geary (Jefferson Hall), as well as the machinations of the East India Trading Company, led by Stuart Strange (Jonathan Pryce).”

We’ll avoid spoiling the episode for those that didn’t catch the BBC One release of the pilot episode on January 7, or are reading this following the FX release and have not yet checked their DVRs. Instead, we’ll highlight a different Tom Hardy-led series, one that happens to be streaming free on Tubi TV.

In 2009, Hardy played sociopath Freddie Jackson in Sky 1 miniseries The Take.

The series lasts only four episodes, making it a perfect one-night or two-night binge. For his work, Tom Hardy was nominated for a Royal Television Society award for Best Actor. The show won an Irish Film & Television Academy award for Best Makeup and Hair.
